Rack Question

I want to use a Yakima Rocketbox for my 2015 SR5 and it looks like if I buy the factory crossbars that it will not clear the shark fin. I thought about getting a TE rack but a search leads me to believe that it is expensive and still may not clear the shark fin.

I have a set of Yakima crossbars so all I would need are the Yakima Railgrabs to make this work. Has anyone done this and is there a lot of wind noise with the round bars. Not as attractive but looks like it will work.

I think the TE rack and cross rails would look nicer but I again worry I won't get the clearance I need and I'm afraid of messing with the mounts as I don't want leaks. Unless someone can convince me to mount the TE setup and have a source for some that are not too expensive.

My 4runner is a MGM so I will at least have my bars painted black.

Any pics of these setups would be appreciated

The factory crossbars will work but they aren't rigid and will allow a box move around a bit.

I use a railgrab with yakima crossbars on my 4runner and the wife's 4Runnee. Also have the wind fairing setup on both vehicles. No noise when carrying the box/basket/ski racks etc

IMHO the stock crossbars are light duty only. Get Yakima if you want something substantial.
