Really? 6k miles? REALLY?

Too funny! Now the hard part of even finding a TE as it seems they are getting rare.

Do you know why the other driver ran? It wasn't the poopie smell was it?:wow2:

I have no clue why the driver fled. It wasn't corny, so it shouldn't have been the poopie. No alcohol involved, insured driver. The driver was a professional in a medical field. Why catch a felony over this?

I hate to say it (please don't flame me here), but I do feel for what might happen to the other driver. No excuses, but geez.

I got a line on a Salsa Red. Sans poopie :moon:

Harper- you ok?
Just bored and messin with the Doc as he seemed to have a warped sense of humor too!lol
I'm here at work as they make us come in to work on Good Friday while mgmt. all takes their paid day off with their families ,not to mention it was 75 and not a cloud in the sky today and my kids had the day off.:bash:,
So I'm not actually doing any work ,sitting at my desk, just got done surfing the entire internet and found that gem on the very last page.

Thanks for asking Antman:lol:
Now to find something to watch on Netflix.

Renewed my membership - thanks to all

Although my first choice wasn't available (who knew there was a Starland Vocal Band Edition?):

Doc- Congratulations! :happy bda

I gotta say- I will look for your posts from now on- you have a great sense of humor! Despite the seriousness of this thread, you have had me cracking up the entire time. Thanks for the laughs and enjoy that TE.

It looks the best in Salsa ya know!

Welcome to team SALSA

Nice, glad you were able to bounce back and found something to keep you content. Team Salsa:bravo:

Wow...I spend a week in Mickey Mouse land and find this thread. I hope ur ok. As a fellow DC driver, the I can attest the people here are all crazy drivers...hence my superbumper attachment. I'm glad ur ok. Just make sure you get a check up with a back and neck specialist just in case. Frequently injuries are hidden and don't pop up until later (my wife still has back pains from a "minor" rear-end accident 2 years ago!) Be sure to up ur PIP insurance to the max of $10k for this area. It doesn't cost much more monthly but is worth its weight in gold when you have medical bills to pay.

Oh..congrats on the new ride! Now you need a superbumper for the rear and a Shrockworks bumper for the front for full protection ;)

Doc - your posts crack me up. Glad you are okay and congrats on the new ride.

I had a similar incident about 8 years ago. It was the day before I our wedding and I was going into work early. Some jackoff that felt it wasn't important to have a license, insurance, or even citizenship for that matter ran a red light in front of my 1 year old Rav4. I hit it at about 45 mph. I had pretty similar damage to what you had... I'll never forget that experience. I'm glad to see the T4R holds up just as well. Toyota is doing something right.

Note to all: Doc testifies.

Thanks for the kind words. Here's to better dodging...

Almost all done (I think)

Just finished the last of the insurance. The 4Runner was replaced within 5 days. I claimed some misc. "stuff"damaged in the accident and all was paid out (minus depreciation), except speakers (Kappas) and the lift. I was given permission to retrieve those parts, but let someone else do it for a reasonable price.

I made no request for an injury claim, but submitted paperwork requested by insurance and they compensated me for the ER visit and some days at home - a surprise bonus. No lawsuit and no regrets for that.

Unbelievably, the driver (who had been drinking, but wasn't drunk) has entered a plea of not guilty for the hit and run (though I am told the driver confessed when apprehended). So, I am a witness for the state next week and must fly home from business travel to testify. If I were to make a prediction, I'd guess it gets pleaded down to a misdemeanor.

A side note - in the new TE, I went with Polk MM 6.5s (x4) and Rockford Fosgate 6x9s (front doors) rather than Kappas again (aside from the 3.5 dash speakers). Fantastic combination - esp. with a KappaFour amp and RF 12" subwoofer. I'm struggling with what lift to go with, will have to give it some thought. The guys and Ducmonsta's meet and greet last month gave me plenty of ideas.

Congrats on the new TE!!! Really glad you are ok and hope nothing comes up later. Now get to the mods!

Nice choice in color, that was my second choice if I couldn't find a silver TE.

Also plan on changing out some speakers in my TE, not sure what I'm going with yet.

So they didn't compensate you for the lift and speakers because those parts weren't damaged or because they just outright refused to pay for them?

Congrats on the new TE -- seems like things have worked out well for you considering the run-in with one of the many douche-nozzle BMW drivers in the NOVA area. Hell, the entire DMV for that matter. I swear 80% plus of the people that drive BMW's around these parts are F'ing *******s. Fortunately my wife doesn't fall into the 80%,...she drives a 328xi.

They said it didn't add to the market value of the vehicle and, as such, they wouldn't cover.
