04 4Runner V8 sport 4wd. ABS/TRAC lighs on, and CEL that says P0500 speed sensor. I flashed the ABS codes using the pins and got code 33, which is right rear wheel speed sensor.
I pulled the sensor off, which was very difficult to get out, was stuck pretty good, but I gently pryed it out.
The sensor is wet with gear oil. Every ABS sensor I've ever worked with has been dry.
Is my inner axle seal shot? I don't see or smell gear oil anywhere else.
I don't think this would cause the ABS light to come on though. Could the sensor be bad but still appear to be intact? How can I test it, ohms?
