Rear Spacers: Truxx, Cornfed, Daystar, Toytec, Revtec

I'm looking to get between 1.25 -1.5 inch lift in the rear.

Do all these spacer lifts use a top plate spacer to lift the rear? Or are top plate spacers only used for the front? Any difference in how any of the above are mounted?

Also do all these rear spacers lift the advertised height?

Any difference in materials, do some use Alluminum and some polyurathane?

Do any brands produce more squeezing or other noises vs the other brands?

Sorry for so many questions, wish I could just get rear coils that provide around 1.25" of rear lift.

And before some one says Search, how about we fill this thread with good info for the next person who searches for keywords: Truxx, Daystar, Cornfed, Toytec, Revtek, Spacers and etc..

Daystars are poly, and all should be top plate spacers for the rear.

I did not run my Daystar kit long, but I never heard any squeaking.

And, as in all of these threads, I feel obligated to say to spend the money the right way the first time. Most go from a spacer lift to a real lift (spring, OME, adjustable coilover) within a year of install, wasting install cost/time and an alignment.

Well I saw looking to run 275/70/17 AT tires to try and avoid rubbing (wheels are 17x8 -12 or -10 offset with 4.5" of backspacing)

So to look proportional I want about a 2" front lift, and a 1-1.25 rear lift.

I can't think of any other way to get that height lift on the rear besides spacers. There was supposedly a 1.5" eibach coil sold by Toytec that lifted the rear 1", but I don't see it on their site anymore.

The lowest height springs I can use are SAW's I believe, and those provide 1.5-2" of lift. If I go that route I'm gonna have to go with 285's IMO to look proportional and live with rubbing.

I've already decided on ICON coils for the front, I wish the rear was as easy
A decision...

I love the look of 285/70/17's and a 2.5/1.5 lift.

But the cons:

Wife more upset
More Rubbing
Worst MPG
Less Power
Less Height Clearance
Less Control in Wind?

Have me leaning towards 275's :(

what's the old saying??
it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission. :redbrick:

lol. i'm sorta in the same place. i've already decided on 285's but i'm just trying to figure out the nearest to stock ride with a lift as i can get to fit that size tires. the tire height differnce between the 275's your after and 285's are about 1/2".

IIRC, someone here recently put 285's on their stock trail.

But the cons:

Wife more upset - Forgiveness, not permission
More Rubbing - With my fender liners pulled I do not really rub
Worst MPG - My 285 Geolander AT-S did not decrease my mileage much from 265 Geolanders. Now, the Duratracs were another story
Less Power - Maybe I am just used to it now, but it was not a big change. Ya, you definitely know that they are on there, but it doesn't turn your truck into a Yaris
Less Height Clearance - Even with a rack, this has never been an issue
Less Control in Wind? - I do notice that the wind pushes me around a bit more, but not enough to decrease lift and tire size. The OME lift kit makes the truck feel more stable than stock even when being pushed around in the wind

Have me leaning towards 275's :(

:hatsoff:

Haha ya I firmly believe its the tread pattern that decreases MPG the most and that's why the super aggresive tread pattern Duratecs get really bad MPG.

That's y even tho they are heavy, I'm kinda leaning towards Falken Wild Peak / Rocky Mountain.

And damn u for making my decision tougher

hmm. i just looked. i didn't see a 275 falken and the 285's were pretty heavy compared to the stock 265's. the weight and tread pattern will def make a difference in mpg's.
