rear torsion bar mount?

Hey there everyone, this is my first post on the forums, I bought an 1990 4runner, 6" lc lift, 35's etc. first got it, took it wheeling the front torsion bar mount snapped and locked my steering, fixed that, but when i re-attached the torsion bar I had it to low, the truck was leaning to one side, so I put a wrench on the top bolt, impact on the bottom, it was all going fine until the bolt gave out and the mount thing sprung up into the floorboard and I can't get it down, nothing to pry to to get it back down, and feed the bolt in again.
any ideas?

I've never messed with the torsion settings or replaced a t-bar. I'd try popping the front a-arm off to take the load off the t-bar, though.

Failing that, buy Blazeland and go coilovers or swap to a straight axle.

Was thinking about that!

I'm not really wanting to remove the a-arm, had enough troubles getting it sucured on there after the mount had snapped off from before, but was thinking about loosening the front torsion bar bolts going into the a-arm? just dont want the bar to twist to much cause I wont be able to twist it back into place!

You might try jacking the truck up, and pull the wheel off to take off some load. If that does not work, you'll need to pull the a-frame assembly off. It is not too bad, I did it a while back when I installed Sway-a-Way torsion bars with urethane bushings. Get new hardware at Toyota as the stress on that bolt is serious.

new problem!

thanks for the quick responses guys! I jacked it up, took off the wheel, and noticed that the 1 of the 3 bolts that are securing the a-arm to the frame is backing out, ( about a week ago I had the a-arm mount snap and I re-welded it all and tapped the nuts under, , it held fine at the time but I guess I didnt tap it well enough!:shrug: I think now I have to re-tap the hole for a bigger bolt so it tightens down fully! Happy it didnt snap when I was driving! :S) and it had snapped because the p.o had it tightened to high heaven for max height. and it snapped when I went wheelin. NEW PROBLEM! :happens: :shrug:
