Rear window dash switch

Does anyone know if the rear window switch on the dash is backlit ? I have a 2001 4Runner SR5. I don't know if the center of the switch is supposed to light up or not. Also, does anyone know if this year Runner has a light above the ashtray?

yes it is. if all the other dash lights are on, then you probably have a burned out bulb...time for a LED swap! :wink2:

If you just want to replace the bulb then you have to remove the center radio bezel and unplug everything from it (I can elaborate on that if needed). The entire top 'bar' with the switches and buttons can be unclipped from the bezel if needed. It clips in at the middle and at both ends. I would advise against the LED bulbs in general though and especially in this case.

Thanks, so it has one of those bulbs with the plastic base that screw into it, like the rear of the instrument cluster? I replaced those bulbs with no problems. I think they were 24's? Maybe 74's? Can't remember.
Do you know what number bulb this switch takes?
