Rear window, defogger, and wiper not working

1996 4Runner, rear window is down (not sure how it got down), defogger switch will not turn on or light up, and rear wiper will not work (and probably wont work with window all the way down. The clue control unit attached to the rear door underneath the plastic cover clicks when I press up or down on the window switch on center console. The same clicking sound emits from the control unit when I try to put the window up using the switch on the tailgate (key lock/switch). All fuses are good in the box in the engine compartment and in that little compartment near the drivers left knee. Do that control unit/ relay module need to be replaced? is there another issue going on? anyone else have the same issues? toggling the window lock button in the drivers door did nothing. My wiper blade is in the correct position. suggestions?

It's happened to a few people on here.

It's likely the limit switch on the window.

What you might have to do is first remove the rear panel. Try to take a small 12 volt battery and get the window to cycle via using aligator clips directly to the motor. You'll want to go all the way down, and all the way up. It's a top limit switch that causes things to not work. The system thinks the window is partially down.

If that doesn't work, dig deeper. I found a bolt was rusted and sheered causing one of guides at the bottom to be off a bit. This causes the window to not only rattle when partially down, but also not align proper and push all the way up to trigger the limit switch. Ironically I only found this after smashed the window from a rock bouncing off my dirt bike hitch carrier.
