jimmiem did with a 2014 Limited above (http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/87982-rearview-camera-mod-nav-3.html#post1824598). I'm fairly certain it's the same for trail.

This might be a dumb question but I'm going to go ahead and ask it. Could you use another SPDT switch to switch between a second camera? I'm planning on doing this mod but I want to add a second camera. I was originally going to put the second camera in my rear view mirror but this would be nice if I could make this work. Anyone know which wires are the video signal? I have a 2014 Trail with the Entune Nav system.

I have not done this - but you'll need more than just a switch for switching video feed. On the bright side the video switch boxes are cheap. Amazon.com : Intelligent Car Video Switcher 3-way Input 1-way Output for the Car Camera : Vehicle Backup Cameras : Car Electronics
If it were me - and it may be sometime in the relatively near future - I'd try to find solution like a momentary push button switch plus a small circuit that would allow you to simply cycle through video feeds each time you press the button it moves to the next one.

Why couldn't I just put in a switch that switches between the cameras? Maybe like a DPDT switch? Wouldn't it just switch the feed to the other camera? I still need to figure out where the camera feed plugs into the back of the stereo.

I think what you are describing would be running the video signal through the switch. This would not work very well as the signal will be subject to interference through the switch which is not shielded. The switch should work to signal the video transfer in a device like I liked, but I don't think it would be wise to run the actual video signal through the switch.

I just did this today and it was not to bad just leave an afternoon free so you can take your time. I think the worst part is the space constraints. I did all the cutting/soldering/shrinking etc in the truck which is a pain compared to a garage work bench.......but I am with you, wiring is not my expertise center and messing with the electronics makes me nervous, I double checked everything on this thread, checked in the truck and then re checked to make sure everything worked as expected before applying solder.
I'm interested in doing this mod for my 2014 T4R TE.
From what I'm reading though, this button wont work, or will with a diode?:

Its a SPST so you are correct, it will work but requires a diode. I used a similar switch (different make but still SPST) and it worked fine with the diode.

I searched through this thread on "diode" and "SPST" and couldn't find a post on how to attach diode to the switch. Anyone have a link, diagram, or image showing how to?

Okay...I have my flame suit on here. I've stared at this thread frontwards and backwards and can't find out how to get TO THE WIRES behind the NAV screen/head unit.
I stared at the head unit and all the trim pieces on the way home (at the stop lights of course) and it's not readily apparent how you pop the darn thing off to get to the back.
Can someone point me to the thread (there has to be one) where this is explained / shown?
Oh - and I'm talking about a 2014/15 Trail with NAV.

In full disclosure, I did run across a pre-2014 thread with those pics but was thinking the 2014+ were different. I thought those side panels (covering the AC controls) had little access panels for screws or something.
After your post (and poking on youtube) I went out to the truck and with some gentle muscle, popped those suckers off.
I do feel bad now...kinda. ; ) Heck, I can install my own lift, design and weld up my own roof rack, and so on but needed help with this. Geesh...

For all other 2014/15 owners, those side panels just pop off - just pull straight back, gently, and firmly.

I have a question for clarification. For those that want to use a factory push button switch we could use something like this lighted rear camera switch and hook it up like this??
1. ACC input wire: Tap into blue wire with switches red wire.
2. Output wire: Cut red wire and install diode, then tap into red wire after diode with switches green wire.
3. Connect switches black ground wire somewhere??
