doesn't one of the 4th gens have a switch that has 3 modes or something like that?

Mods aside, I am a big fan of things looking factory installed so I'm thinking of moving the switch to the left of the steering wheel - down where that orphan switch blank is (if you know where I mean). Looking behind the bottom trim panel there if I go much more to the right I would not have clearance behind due to a piece of metal bracing. Otherwise does not look like its that big of a deal moving it.....famous last words
Post what you were thinking in regards to a factory rocker switch - sounds interesting.
I figure when it breaks, I will move it...haha...Just a consideration on placement.
The V6 had multi-mode 2H 4H 4L on the knob and the center diff lock was a button on the left side of dash. The V8 had full time AWD 4H 4L on the selector and the center diff lock button on the left side of the dash. There are some good shots of both dash layouts on 4th gens on Ebay.I had a 4th Gen but can't for the life of me remember. Note to kids - don't get old!
I've asked a few times in the 4th Gen section but they were not very helpful. I've also asked the dealer to see if they had any experts in the shop who might help......can you guess how that turned out? :ybrick:
I am not sure if you are still considering putting the switch to the left of the steering wheel, but bear in mind that I put my ARB compressor switch down there, and my knee hits that puppy all of the time when I get into the vehicle. I figure when it breaks, I will move it...haha...Just a consideration on placement.

Here you go,,,,,scroll down to "view all photos" and you will find the dash shots.Yeah, I had a 2006 V8 Limited and sort of remember the dail. Could you post the links of what you found on ebay?
they get a lot more than that.
Philly, there are 2 versions of the tc switch in the prado - download the toyota jamaica brochure and flip through it to see them. One doesn't have the air suspension/leveling
