Removal of dealer sticker ?

What is the best way to remove the annoying sticker the dealer slaps on the back of the SUV? I figured the 2 license plate brackets would be enough but I guess not! I am not driving a billboard here!

I did this right after I got mine, the sooner the better to keep from any noticeable color difference from the paint behind the sticker and the rest of the vehicle.

I just used my finger nail to carefully remove the stickers (they come off easy if you work on the edges) then I used goo-gone to take the sticky mess left behind off. Once that was all gone I washed the area really well and then applied some wax to it.

You'd never know there was ever a dealer sticker there (the way it should be).

What I've done on my last few cars was that I told the salesperson that I do not want any of the dealer stickers added to my vehicle and if there are any, I will not take delivery until it is removed. They've been very good about it. It's one of those things that you have to tell them ahead of time cause they don't put that sticker on until after the vehicle is sold and they are prepping it for delivery.

Goof off, a plastic putty knife and a hairdryer on medium heat.

Heat the sticker, work the putty knife at a corner. Let the heat work. Clean residue with the goof off. It works.

After reviewing the documents, and before I signed the purchase agreement for my truck, I inspected the vehicle. The sales manager declined to pay me a fee for having an advertisement on my truck so I stood and waited next to the truck while the yard guy peeled off the stickers (individual letters). He admitted he had just put them on an hour before.

Why people tolerate them on their vehicles is a mystery to me too.

I forgot to tell them NO stickers, normal do. Anyway, I used a paper towel soaked with warm water, held it onto the stickers to warm the glue up. (easier than dealing with an extension cord and hair dryer for me). I had to peel off each letter but I got them all easily. I think they are getting smarter with the stickers, instead of one big one that can easily be pulled they are making them not so 'easy' to take off anymore.

There is a little glue left. Can 'goo be gone' used without worry of damage to the paint/clearcoat? I see a few people have used it, I just want to make sure!

You will be fine. It's one of the best products for getting the glue residue off the clear coat. Won't hurt a thing. 3M Adhesive, Tar and Wax remover is also a great paint safe option.

Thanks for the advice, I used warm water and peel off from the edge. Dried the area and used a car paint wax to remove any residual glue. It is as clean as the other area.
