Replace 2015 XREAS Suspension- What should I do?

Hey guys! Love our forum and wanted to get some advice from you.

I'm investigating the cost to do a 2" or 3" lift on my 2015 Limited. I know I have to do away with the XREAS suspension in order to do this. However, my question is what suspension would give as good or better day-to-day riding as the XREAS with the benefits of the clearance for off-road (i.e. the 2" or 3" lift)?

You don't necessarily have to get rid of your XREAS. You can get away with a relatively inexpensive spacer lift and then you can add some bigger tires to get a little more clearance. Not as good as a "real" lift for off-road. But on-road handling will still be pretty similar (the center of gravity will be slightly higher than stock, as with any lift, but I didn't notice a huge difference).

Spacer lift is a reasonable initial step. Let's you run bigger tires. You can then use it for a while and decide if you want to do a suspension upgrade and get rid of XREAS. In my case I started doing off road trips where I was bottoming out on the stock suspension and sagging in the back with equipment so I knew it was time to upgrade. Took the XREAS out and have never missed it.

I have XREAS and will be replacing with adjustable Fox.

I can't comment on the ride quality difference yet, obviously. But if you can get any suspension with dampening controls, you can adjust the ride quality and will probably come close to the XREAS "cush" ride

I'd argue you don't need adjustable damping, I'm thrilled to death with the toytec lift I have. Personally I never thought of Xreas as "Cush". Firm without being too harsh maybe (yeah I know, but there is a difference in my mind), but it was really harsh off-road. It wasn't until I bolted all this other stuff to my truck that the ride really changed. Any lift still raises the center of gravity so there will be a change.

It can be nerve racking to decide what to get when you are ripping out Xreas once you are used to the on road ride if you aren't familiar with aftermarket suspensions. I look forward to your comparison of the Fox when you get it on Danny.

I absolutely love my Fox adjustable suspension setup. I was really worried about pulling X-REAS because I liked how it handled on road so much, but couldn't be happier with the results.

I might have been equally happy with something less expensive, but damn it's cool to be able to dial it in and adjust it so easily and feel the difference right away. There's my $0.02.

I have to agree that the limiteds are anything but "cush". They are much stiffer riding than an SR5.
