Replacement Instrument Light Bulb

I had the console light replaced, but the up and down arrow displays are still not lighting up.

I'm going to take it back, but for my curiosity (and the dealer should've picked up on this!!) is there an additional bulb that lights up the up and down arrow display (on top of the UP TEMP and below the DOWN).

The side left and right arrow displays are lighting up however..(next to the AUTO and A/C)

But, yes, are there additional bulbs that control the up and down display which are above and below the UP TEMP and DOWN control?

Just came back and the service guy advised me that the arrows above and below the UP TEMP and DOWN should NOT light up as this is a momentary operation. If that's the case why have the arrows that look like they should illuminate in the first place..or do the arrows actually light up momentarily as you adjust the temperature? (which I can see them burning out before any of those tiny bulbs if this is the case)

I looked in the owner's manual, but it doesn't indicate if the arrows light up, just that they are used to control the temperature.

Curious if any other '05 SR 4R owners see the same with theirs.

When I removed the panel for the climate control. I only found one bulb and that lights the fan settings. Where is the bulb to backlight the climate control on the right? Thank you in advance!

Does anyone know how to remove the bulbs "C" on the instrument panel. I successfully removed the panel and located the bulbs. I have managed to remove other bulbs on the panel, but the "C" bulbs that serve as the backlight for the time clock appear to be soddered to the circuit board.

Could anyone give me help on how to remove the "C" bulbs in the diagram?

for the C bulbs just use a screw driver or do you have the panel upside down & looking at the wrong ones?

Thanks Chaz!

I was able to change the C bulbs. Thanks you very much Chaz. I just wanted to make sure I did not permanently damage the A/C panel, since replacing the entire unit would be very expensive.

bulbs

does any one know if I can get different colors of bulbs for the replacement of all the bulbs that are in the center climate controls and such, I want to change to something other than the orange? I know you can get different colors for the dash gauge cluster.

Replaced bulbs area still dark??

So I replaced the light bulb and the knob is still not lighting up. The arrows for the auto or a/c light up but not the actual "Auto", "A/C" "Up" or "down".

Has anyone else experienced this?

I replaced light bulb C thinking it would fix the darkness on half of a/c lights. It did not. As you can see from attached pic. Any help would be great!! Thanks

I have this same problem in my '07. I've replaced the bulb twice - once the dealer sold me a bulb with a gray base and once it was a blue base. I want to say one didn't work at all and one kept it very dim like yours. I replaced the bulb with one from my '05 and it worked like normal.

I gave up for the time being and it's just dim on that side now. I even switched sides for the bulbs and the other side was dim. I'm not sure why some bulbs go to "half brightness like that", or why a new bulb from the dealer would already be dim. Maybe wrong wattage or something, but I'd like to know the answer as well.

Are the bulbs themselves white? Or do the illuminate amber? Or are the windows hat te light emotes through the dash amber tinted?

Replacing bulb behind rear window control

I want to thank the users for the info on replacing the bulbs in the center console. It took me less than 10 minutes and only cost me a couple of bucks for the bulbs. Now I need to change the bulb behind the button to control the rear window. Can someone clue me in on how to gain access to it?

This post has been great for me to find out how to change the bulbs. I have changed the bulbs and I can not get one side to work. Any idea on where I would check to see what else might be causing the new bulb to not light up.

Thank you,
Bill
