Replacement radiator question

Why is the general consensus on this board that the Koyo radiator is superior to the Toyota OEM radiator?

I'm talking generally in preventing the pink milkshake, but why is the Koyo better? Wouldn't you be just as well off replacing your current radiator with a Toyota replacement every 100,000 miles or so just to be on the safe side? Wouldn't the Koyo be just as pink milkshake prone as the OEM?

Koyo is not the be all end all.

Spectra and Denso also make very good units.

To avoid milkshake disaster, be sure to stay on top of changing your coolant and ATF fluid.

This has had me curious for a while now.

The consensus is to replace your radiator to avoid the pink milkshake. People prefer the quality of the Koyo units. Not that its any more likely to prevent the milkshake than any other brand. But the point isn't to go with Koyo in order to avoid the milkshake, the point is to replace your radiator period to avoid the milkshake.

However, the ONLY way you can 100% avoid it is to run an external tranny cooler and bypass the one in the radiator all together.

I replaced mine with the plastic Koyo. Seems fine and does well, but I used the OEM brackets on it.

I think I read where BrianSD said he bought a real Koyo radiator. I am curious where and if he has pics of it.

I just bought a real koyo via a distributor out of CA via eBay. It still has plastic like factory. What are you thinking should be different?
