Replacing door speakers, need opinions

I don't mind cutting the dash! Which speaker did you use for the dash and what did you sue for the tweeters?

May be interested in your tweeters!!!!
Shoot me a PM with some details?
I'd need 4 tweeters total, then one for center channel.

I may just splice the speakers in, would that be a bad idea??

I have 4 of the 5.25's and they rock, no issues what so ever sound sweet!

I would recommend the speaker wire adapters, you can splice them in, but it makes it harder if you ever want to go to back to stock

I'm currently running SPS-610 ALPINE 6.5" TYPE-S 2WAY in the rear and Infinity Reference 5x7 in the front and love them. I would recommend powering them through an amp to get the best quality.

The Alpine's were cheap ($70) and mounted easily with the correct adapters.

You have JBL, you don't need adapters since you can reuse the JBL speaker mounts, actually if you do that, you can use the wiring harnesses from those.

Someone help!!!!

I have my door apart and I can't get the speaker out of the stock housing... do I have to cut the black caulk looking stuff? do i have to replace that with silicone or anything?

Help!!!! I have my truck in pieces!!

Scrap the last post, I got it off with some force. But now my alpine speaker seems too big for the mount. It won't go in all the way and mount flush... What do i do... at a total loss here

Took a dremel to it... hoping it works out, had to use some super glue.... one of the screws holes stripped out.

Also also, whats the little white doodad box thing coming from the speaker between two harnesses?

i dont know what the heck was going on, but its working now...

so..


your aftermarket speakers are prob a different mounting depth than the stock ones.. as well as a differnt mounting diameter.. you prob need to get or make some mounting adapters.. also.. i would advice against using glues.. proper installment needs a screw in each screw hole.. this will prevent speaker damage and will give the best sound quality and speaker performance..

The white box is a crossover
