Requirements for buying in VA, NC?

you can buy a car anywhere but will have to pay for the appropriate taxes of the zipcode where you reside. that said, if you are now living in va/nc then you'll have to pay for taxes of that state/county. (basically you pay taxes where you register the car)

are you military? if so you will pay the sales tax of where ever the vehicle gets registered. if it is in the state you are buying it, you will pay it at the dealer as part of the price. i bought mine in OH and registered in FL. i sent the check in with my registration paperwork.

I need to pay NC taxes to DMV and an additional $99 doc. fee to the MD dealer. All in all I am still saving $$$ over purchasing the SUV locally.
I want an 05 Limited V8 4WD with NAV, XREAS, Sunroof, Spoiler, and Side Impact Airbags.
Apparently they are very hard to come by in NC. In Maryland, the Limiteds come in 2 packages. One being similar to my list with the addition of the wireless headphones.
I thought I would never get a good deal on an 4Runner, until I called the MD dealership.
