Resonator Delete?

I tried searching but all that comes up is people doing this on 4th gens. I have a cherry bomb vortex and would like some more sound so 1. would removing the resonator do anything? and 2. we have an o2 sensor after the resonator, would putting a pipe in its place interfere with it?

That 'resonator' is the catalytic convertor. Removing it will make your truck louder, but it will smell like a dump truck (had one go bad once - stinks), fail emissions, violate federal law, and throw a diagnostic code.

If you park your truck in a bad neighborhood somebody might remove it for you.

I thought that is a resonator between the muffler and passenger side catalytic converter am I wrong?

Earlier 3rd gens had 1 cat, later (like my 2002) have 2. Don't know when they switched, looks like 99.
