Reverse light LEDs - resistance issue?

I installed LED bulbs in my reverse lights and now my front turn lamps will not work. I replaced the LEDs with the original bulbs and the front turn lamps still do not function. Pulled the fuse for the turn lamps and it looks fine. If it was originally just a resistance issue, shouldn't the front turn signals work now that the original bulbs are back?

Suggestions for a fix?

When you put the original bulbs back in do you get the fast ticking when you try to use the turn signals? If so there's a good chance they're blown if the fuse is fine. You'd be surprised how fragile those 1157 bulbs are - I've replaced them more than all the others combined.

So the fuse for the front DRLs was fine but the front DRL/blinker bulbs were both blown. I know very little about auto electrical but I think the reverse lights are on a different "circuit" than the front DRLs. How did the reverse light LEDs blow the front DRLs? Or was it just a coincedence that both front DRLs blew the same day I installed the LEDs? The tech guys at Superbright LEDs said there is no way the LEDs affected the front DRLs. The LEDs are the same volts but higher wattage for whatever that's worth. I am running the stock bulbs now in the reverse lights but will put in the LEDs again this weekend and see what happens. I will follow up.

I'm inclined to believe that it was just a sheer stroke of bad luck. It's almost impossible for the reverse lights to affect your front turn signals :redface:

Also, I believe the LEDs should be the same volt, but much lower wattage...if you actually had an LED that is consuming ~15-18w, that thing would be bright as fawk, lol. But that's besides the point, a lot of us here (including me) are running higher wattage halogen bulbs (upwards of 40-50w per bulb) in the reverse light position to no ill effect, so that shouldn't be your issue either

10w LED = 14w CFL = 60w Normal

It's pretty much something like this, so I didn't really bother taking pictures. Pick your poison on which bulb you want to use. I wasn't ballsy enough to go with the full 50w ones, so I stuck with the 27w cuz I'm a chicken :redface:. But honest, even at 27w, the difference is HUGE.

New LED reverse lights (WLED-WHP10-TL) work great! Big improvement. Strange but unrelated front DRL/Blinker blow-out. Recommended as great replacement option.
