Rim Width

Looking at a set of Pro Comp 7089 rims. I'm going to run the stock size Yokohama A/T's. Is a 17x8 the correct width for the stock tire. I want something wider than the stock rim but don't want to get crazy.

Thanks

Hi 5Sport,

If I'm understanding your question correctly... The stock SR5 and Trail rim is only 7.5(?) inches in width IIRC (the Limited is only 20X7 inches) and Toyota approved the Yokohama Geolander to be 'The Standard' stock unit; However you can go wider!

Here's the 5'th gen tire fitment guide: https://www.google.com/url?q=http:/...ds-cse&usg=AFQjCNH2jfjese8cBzKN-xi_x_r62aG2PA Hope this helps, regards!

Thanks, I saw the chart and I know that I have a wide range from 7.5-9in rim widths that I can choose from. I am going to stick with the stock size tires I was just not sure the best width for the pro comps.

If that fitment guide is right then at the bottom it said that the SR5 is 7" along with the LE. The TE is a 7.5 according to that guide.

I wouldn't put any stock in that guide being true. Looks like some wahoo on crack spent about two minutes with Excel and just made up numbers and colors to match what the voices in his head were telling him to write. Surprised he even had the skill to publish the image.

Different rim but same dimensions and back spacing as your Pro Comps, with factory size 265-70/17 tires.
