Rims/Leveling kit on order

compressing the springs is the hard part. the part you usually don't want to do in your driveway, alone, with a rented spring compressor.
 
These are top out spacers so you have to beat the old strut studs out and put the ones from the spacer kit in because this spacer doesn't go on top of the spring it goes on top of the strut.

Thanks...ordered them and have called my shop to set up the install.
 
I just ordered 20" rims for my limited and I am curious with a simple 2 inch leveling kit what would be the largest tire I could run without having to do any fabrication or cutting. Right now I was going to put a 275 55 20 with out a lift. When I leveled my silverado I was able to go up 2 tire sizes but Im not sure about the 4 runner. I am having this done purely for the look in all honesty I do not do much off roading and the little i do in hunting season the stock 4 runner would handle that just fine. SO what Im getting at is this will all be done for looks mostly because i know for serious off roading the xreas should go and a lift such as Icon should be installed
 
I bought these spacers before checking...will they work on the limited? I took to a shop today and they couldn't do it? If anyone knows please chime in.

They should work on a limited these are the same spacers I used on my 04 sr5 to. The shop didn't know what they were talking about.
 
Im planning on ordering these spacers for my limited, what type of shop does this kind of install....you mentioned your "alignment shop"??
 
not to hijack, but do you need to do a leveling kit when changing wheels? is there any off road advantage?

I must say those really dress up your rig, I have been debating getting new rims myself and had been shying away from the darker/black colors when looking. However after seeing your pics, I really like the look. If you don't mind me asking what part # are those rims.

Thanks alot Not sure what part# they are they are just american racing rims mojave teflon coated 17x8 4.5 backspacing with a zero offset. However tonkat said hers don't rub with her toyo open country m/t's without a lift or leveling kit in the same rim but my 4runner is leveled and I rub at full lock when backing and the steering wheel is cranked all the way to the right. I basically just went on tire rack and looked at rims and had my friend who owns a tire shop here order them for me.

Any one have any experience with this leveling kit. Its listed to work with the '10 Limited. I am in between the Toytec 3/4" front top spacers. How much lift do we really need to level it. The ready lift says 2.25 and to toytec says 3/4"...i'm confused. Thanks

I mentioned earlier in the post that the toytec topout spacer gave me 2 inchs of lift on my Trail and 1 3/4 inchs of lift on my 04 SR5. I honestly have no idea why toytec says they only lift it 3/4 of an inch. Honestly it depends on how level you want your 4runner which kit you order.
 
I would also try and find a shop that will install these for you for a resonable price to one member was quoted 450 which is nuts. I know the limited is differeant as far as front suspension but Harper7 has mentioned it can be done. Good luck with your lift post some pics after your done. Thanks for the complements on the ride.

Any update on the install or pictures?? Does anyone know if this kit is needed on the '11 Limited? I have mine on order and should be here in a week, otherwise I would just go measure myself. Trying to order all the crap I want now before it comes. :jump:

I went with the 2 inch lift spacers over the top plate spacer kit because either way you go you need the spring compressed and if its a limited they need to disconnect the Xreas and I had to have it done at the dealership because my local 4x4 shop wouldn't touch it. I had $130.00 in the parts and $200.00 for labor and my 4 runner looks darn close to perfectly level. I don't off road so this worked perfect for me
