and we spin around facing east on the I-70 median. Thank God no one was hurt. After being told repeatedly to stay in the car by law enforcement officials, another truck lost control on the interstate and came at us like a tordpedo. All we could do is brace ourselves for impact. The truck smashed into us and left a few of us bruised and cut up. But that was it.

What kind of idiot orders you to stay in a crashed car in the middle of a freeway., at night & slick with ice.

What was the LEO thinking ?

Btw you are not obligated to follow those orders. LEOs cannot order you stay in your car that broke down on the train tracks while a train is approaching. A lot of LEOs just shout orders at civilians. You aren't obligated legally to follow an order just because the police say the order. A lot of cops think things work that way but they don't.

It would be different if you were pulled over and he ordered you to stay in the car. But they can't order you to stay in the car while it teetering off a cliff or something.

Condolences on the loss of a faithful, albeit mechanical, companion.
What was the reaction of the so-called 'law enforcement officials' when they saw that they had very nearly sent several people to early graves?
