Hope the damage is minimal and looking forward to the update. Specifically what caused the roll. It's hard to get an idea of the topography from that photo. But like I always say, if you ain't breaking shit you're not trying hard enough.

Pilot Rock trail

Even despite the minor flop, today was fun.

Ran the Pilot Rock trail with some local guys.

Now this here was the area that I flopped, an optional section that was a steep, deep and winding ditch.

Going down was technical for sure, coming up is where I messed up..

Now for coming up, I was trying to straddle the strait section of the ditch then transition to the passenger wall to go over the hump in the middle. Nobody was really spotting me because everyone was on their phones taking pics and stuff.. so I wasn't aware of how much the rear axle was definitely NOT straddling the ditch. Went to turn passenger and over she went.

Once I got righted, I continued up the obstacle and completed it.

The aftermath

The doors came out better than I expected..


BUT, upon further inspection, there is damage to the B-pillar that may be structural. I am taking the truck to a shop this week to look at it.

Glad to see the damage was very minor. When I saw that on fotornr's Instagram story, I had to do a double take and thought, "Oh man I hope that isn't Jim's truck...."

I hope to see her back to 100%!

Got the bumper gap fixed finally.

How did you fix the gap? Just a matter of relocating the mounting studs?

Saw your rollover on Instagram. That's nuts, looked gentle, but still scary. Glad damage was minimal.

You'll like the baofeng. Way better than CB. The test isn't bad if you haven't taken it either.

Lots of guys in the socal group have the camels if you want to program it for local repeaters too.

The stock antenna is the biggest range limiter, and mag mount ones are cheap.

Good luck with the b pillar. Does it affect for operating or the cabin seal?

I am taking the test this week, but have been studying for it for months off and on. Seems easy.

This is just my handheld unit. I will also eventually get a vehicle mounted unit as well for longer range stuff.

The doors and seals seems to still work fine, its been through one car wash and there is no wind noise. Doors open and close as normal.

I had this same thought while it was happening. One of the few times I wished the truck was a 5 speed. I have used the gas pedal a few times to get me out of similar situations going down an obstacle in the past.

Ever thought of slaming it into Neutral? You don't need to depress the button on the shifter to do it, and it's basically the same thing.
