rock sliders ????

ok so as some of you guys have a sr5 to, what sliders did you go with. i dont care if i hafe to cut the rocker panel. going to need them soon as im moving to fort carson co. and i want to play with the big boys :humble: . not much need for them here in VA. so im going to get the sliders first then full skid plates. pic would help me thanks

Hell if you can weld up a roof rack...sliders ought to be a cake walk..

I bought the Rocky Roads and welded steps, covered with aluminum diamond plate...saved my ass more than once

ya i seen your's nice. i just dont want to lose any ground clearance. o i did not make that rack lol my uncle is a faber i dont want to ask for another big fab job right now lol.

Shrockworks sliders here. I switched over to TE rockers. Love the SW sliders though; saved my ass twice to date.

Nope, no cutting involved. A bottom part of the trim has to come off but it doesn't have to be cut.

I have the Budbuilt bump out with a partial tread plate and the SR5 or limited rocker panel cover does have to be removed or cut. Making sliders that fit under the panel would sacrifice way too much ground clearance. I removed my covers and have never missed them. If I ever run out of other mods and have extra cash I may do a partial trail conversion or order the shrockworks rocker panel cover to give it a more finished look. But it's a low priority.

For me the Budbuilts are awesome and I used the partial tread plate when loading mountain bikes on the roof. Oh and they have saved my ass when I try to hang with my buddies and their purpose built crawlers...

?? What SW cover are you referring to? Pics? Link? I didn't find anything on the shrockworks website.

It hasn't made it to the site yet but pics were posted on here awhile back. If you email or call them they can quote you a price. I must have deleted the email I got from them. It looked decent up front but the rear section was a little open for my personal taste.

Any particular angle? There is one pic in my album looking down the driver side showing how far out the sliders stick and I probably have some more saved somewhere from after the install.

Its on page 2 of the "SR5 body kit" thread towards the bottom of the page. The design looks simple enough to have my buddy fab a similar design up but the missing panel doesn't really bother me that much.

That's a really nice fix actually. The rear is no different that what it would be with the TE rockers (in terms of the rear fender flare). Although I do think they should cover the body section all the way in the rear and flare it up to mirror the body profile to give it a nice finished look.

Looks like a great alternative for those looking to add sliders to an SR5/LE.

The only negative is when I am off road and I start playing in mud the section below the door jam seal seems to get a lot dirtier than it did when I had the rocker panel cover on.

it looks ok, i think it will hide better with a darker color. thanks for the pic's
