Rocky Road Sliders On The Way

i just ordered the super sliders from rocky road, is anyone else using these?

i decided against schrockworks because i dont want to be in the dark if they are going to take 8 weeks or 6 months

so after washing my truck and shampooing the carpets and hardwiring 3 way aux outlet and the power converter i decided to take off my running boards and dang it looks so much better now! i cant wait to get my sliders, they say its only a week til the ship from the order date

Yes please. I'd like to see pics when they are on, and cost, how to contact the maker to pls.

Ruffian needs rock sliders...by spring or else I'm going to trash the running boards even further!
 
Yeah I would like to see these look. I like having the step rails off the runner, but want to get some protection for the body panels.
 
Looks like you can get them here
$369 SuperSliders
$299 for RockRails.

They appear to be full bolt on and powdercoated like Shrockworks, but cheaper.

They actually look pretty good. I wouldn't mind seeing some pics of them installed on a 4th Gen or any T4R for that matter.

I sent them an email. There have a pic there on their website of a 4th Gen with a set on it. Not sure if its the standard slider or the Superslider. Not sure where they are based, but I'm interested!
 
They look pretty good. The only drawback that I see with them is how they bolt on. They appear to bolt on directly to the outer most side of the frame rail where shrockworks has a U bracket that seems to wrap around the frame.

By appearance along I am just unsure if the Rock Road sliders will be able to handle the same abuse/pressure/torment as the shrockworks.

We shall see, I'm interested to see what they send you to I can get a better idea of how they mount on a T4R 4th Gen.

I actually received them last Thursday I think it was a total of less than two week from when I ordered them. I haven't had a chance to bolt them up yet bet from the looks of it, it won't be that bad, going to try and do it tomorrow or Tuesday, I'm heading up to fort Bragg on Thursday and hitting up 5 of my favourite breweries on a norcal beet trip so I want to have them on so I can do a little photo shoot and maybe finally make 4r of the month haha!!

Josh,
Ask someone to help you with the install. These buggers are heavy, and you have to move them in and out of position a number of times, while drilling and bolting.

Jack stands are also helpful, and mandatory if doing this alone.

It is a tight fit, between the frame and the pinch weld (A & B). The support tube (C) fits behind the pinch weld.

Pay close attention to where you mount them, fore/aft. The outer tube can interfere with the fender flare that is attached to the rear door. I didn't notice this until I was done installing mine; so I had to trim a bit of plastic, to allow the door to open & close properly.

Oh man...deep burn Josh! Someone else posted pictures before you did. :biggrin2: I like the way they look. Can't wait to get mine. What do you think about having them shipped bare metal and then "rhino-lining" them. The reason I want to go this route is because I put my mtn bikes on the rack and I foresee the powder coating being slippery when wet or muddy.

No I wasn't trying to burn josh , just give him a hard time. I like the tape idea, I have read on the forum that rhino lining tends to chip off when off-roading and then becomes a constant job of patching it yourself.
 
body

they bolt to body & frame? what happens to the body support when they get hit? can you even use them as a jack point?

oh man!!

i know i know im such a slacker, i might just have to wait til the weekend when i can get a buddy to help me

the rhino lining sounds like a cool idea but it does seem like it would get chipped off when offroading
