I have read and seen quite a few posts on different setups people are using; Gobi, BajaRacks, Ezi Awn. The idea I have and would like to do is put my X-Cargo-20 Box (Sears) on a roof rack and also be able to stand on top of it. I have to travel quite long distances so I like to pack non-fragile items in the top and sleep along the way. I would like to be able to access the top of the truck for photograph from.

Access the roof to photograph from, that I can also attach a box to as well for gear storage at the same time. The photos I have seen of the racks themselves show someone can stand on them and have an open area to stow gear, Gobi for example, but I had not found one that has crossbars too attach a box too as well. And then vice versa racks w/ crossbars that have a floor to stand on.
I would like to add a separate thought; I know I may be chastised for it, but for the sake of "seeing it from the other side" I thought it worthwhile to do so anyway. I have read quite a number of posts here on the forum after being directed to the new members section, and spent time reading about a number of things in many different areas of interest. I am truly grateful for all the input, knowledge and willingness to help people with varying levels of knowledge in 4-wheeling and the modifications, thank you for the forum. I also get why the "search" response is valuable especially for new members. It's the whole fish and Christ parable.
I did search for rooftop racks with boxes, rooftop boxes with gear and access. As mentioned in the first section above I didn't find anything... maybe my question was a bit non-linear and a little muddy but not too bad I didn't think
... But one of the responses was "Lol i know. I just thought it was funny", I don't know what is so funny about my question. Was it that I referenced that I had looked at three of the more popular manufacturers of racks and didn't see what I was looking for, or that I searched the forum and didn't find it here either; or that I described what I wanted to do in case someone else is doing the same exact thing that I want to do, access the top of the truck and stand there w/ a tripod (which I left out in my post
) while having a RTR that allows for attaching a box that needs crossbars for attaching. All of us accept and disseminate information differently... but to make a member or anyone feel "stupid" for asking a question especially in a place created exactly for just this matter is ironic and mean spirited. I am not personally troubled about this, but you may want to consider how other new members may feel. It can be intimidating coming into an area with so much knowledge and with so much stuff to consider when making a decision about modding their rigs. Noobs are trying to get their feet underneath them and there is a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience here.
If you were to go to a photography forum and ask a similar question, an area where I am quite experienced and versed, I can guarantee you I would be more than willing to help walk someone through what gear or what settings they would need without making them feel bad about themselves for asking. Just something to consider.

Gobi has an option on their rack for removable crossbars. The others you mentioned are usually shown as flat utility racks although they all come with attachments that you can buy separately so that you could attach your cargo carrier. It sounds like for your purposes you need a full length rack with crossbars...so Gobi stealth with removeable crossbars would be your choice. The others do have attachments that would work for you but it doesn't sound like that is what you are looking for.
If you are interested in buying a gobi check out Trail Duty. They usually offer a discount and throw in a latter. Just realize with a Gobi your lead time will likely be around 8-12 weeks from order placement.

If you go the gobi route, check out retailmenot.com first. I got a $100 off coupon. when I ordered mine. there is also a group buy code floating around here that gives a different discount option that might be more beneficial depending on your configuration.
One thing to note. if you are carrying a cargo box, you might want to check the cross bar clearance on the stealth. I have a Yakima skybox 21 and Just got my gobi this past Wednesday. I'm not sure if I'll be able to mount the box on my truck with the gobi bars as the Yakima claws are quite thick.
I might have to keep using the yakima rail grabs and bars.
looking back, the ranger may have been a better choice

Confirmed today, I mounted my skybox 21 on my Gobi rack's movable crossbars. A very tight fit indeed. If the skybox were any bigger it wouldn't work both length wise as I did not get the " low rise option". It also takes a bit of muscle to get it on and off the rails. Again, the ranger may have been a better choice, however it also might have caused some clearance issues down the road in parking garages.
Also, Gobi will work with you to customize racks as needed perhaps they could build a rack with more clearance than a stealth, but less than the ranger.

The reason you got the remarks you did is there is no question in your original post. Only statements.
Any rack can hold your cargo box. You just have to be creative on mounting it. Think outside the box...

I did purchase however did not use the Yakima/Thule mounts from Baja Rack. Decided to have a lower profile and just used Gorilla Tape at all four points of contact where my Yakima box attached. Just measured the diameter needed and wrapped each bar until diameter achieved for the clamps. An extra hrs work however saves money and gives a lower profile.

Um, OK, I'll give you the benefit of a doubt here and assume you have limited knowledge of car suspension, etc. I'm obviously unsure of what you are trying the photograph, and more importantly, what shutter speeds you are using. That being said, I'm not sure how much a tripod will help if you are standing on the rooftop with it, there is the least bit of breeze, you touch the truck, etc.
I'd personally never bother to place a tripod on a 'firm' surface that is suspended by springs. Unless, of course, you're going for some kind of blurred special effect.
