When you all remove your RTT covers do you fully unzipped and remove it or do you leave like the front still zippered and just push it out of the way for quicker re-installation?

When installing my RTT I put a small hole in one of my mesh screens!!! Ordered a MSR screen patch kit, looks easy enough, just has built in adhesive backing.........

I have a FrontRunner Slimline 3/4. It took up most of the rack.

if I am not using the annex I just un-zip and let it hang. after watching [MENTION=149276]TheOverlandShop[/MENTION] video though ill be rolling it up now.
ahhh, couldn't tell from the picture. yep it will take up the entire roof from the sunroof back. with a full rack you can at least strap some bins above the sunroof.

Question for those that take your RTT to campgrounds. Are you reserving tent only sites, standard no hook-up sites or RV sites? I just ordered my Smittybilt Overlander XL Tent and will be heading to Colorado in a few weeks(pending the tent makes it to me in time). I called a few places and I keep getting different answers. Some say if my vehicle will fit in the tent pad area I can reserve that, some say standard no hookup is best and some need me to explain over and over what a RTT is.

I think some of the Front Runner Stratchits and some eyelets would make quick business of securing the cover rolled up. I wish I could find a cheaper source for stratchits than FR

stupid questions deserve stupid answers but....has anyone camped in a rain/lightning storm using their RTT? I am going out this weekend to camp and forecast calls for thunderstorms for part of the day. I am worried about it being up high with the metal supports.
I assume they are but the cvt Shasta, pretty water proof?

Ordering all my bedding for full time overloading. ARB Simpson III RTT. I ordered this topper from Amazon, thoughts?

My thoughts is, something 4" or 5" would be too thick, especially when its folded over. But this one is more like 1.5" and compresses well, so I think its a good choice. I ordered "full" size, since full is about 54x75 and the Simpson III is 54x96. Sure it won't be as long as the tent, but it will be plenty long.
I also picked up some sheets. I plan to put the sheets around the topper only!! Why? Because the bottom of most RTT's, including the Simpson III, has velcro to attach to the floor. If you put sheets on then it will cover the velcro and then it won't stick to the floor and create a mess. The Simpson III also has a strap to hold the bedding in place, so I can put the topper on, put the sheets on the topper and have the strap hold it all in place as its folded over.
