Its a 2019. Last winter it wouldn't go down without help. once I got the road crud washed out, it was better until 2 days ago. It went down and wouldn't come up more than an inch or so. Yesterday, I took the outer weatherstrip off and inner panel. I blew all the dust out and there was a lot. Still no work. There is a tiny bit of frayed cable near the motor where it goes in to the cable housing. I tried lifting, holding the switch still no good. The cables for the regulator are tight. Like a bowstring. I shot P B Blaster on the guides and let it sit all night. I haven't tried it today, but I'm not really expecting anything. I am thinking it's most likely the regulator. I haven't been able to find much on the 5th Gen about this. I found one video, but it didn't explain how to swap out the cables to the pulley on the motor. Also, I have found no service manuals like Haynes or Chilton's for the 5th Gen. Do any exist?

Something similar happened to me, no fraying but the cable guides were so dusted up the motor couldn't move the window at all. I was able to get them unstuck with a lot of lube and patience. Once they would move the slightest bit I was able to get it the rest of the way by cycling the window up and down until it would go through the full range again. Emphasis on lube and patience.
Replacing those cables and guides would be a nightmare, hope you get this sorted out. If they're frayed to the point where that's why they're getting hung up I don't see an alternative though.
Thanks! I waited overnight after giving the guides another healthy shot of lube. It wouldn't even move that inch. I found a video from the previous generation that showed the process. It's the same only different if you know what I mean. I ordered a replacement regulator and hope that is the whole problem. Our truck spends a lot of time on Montana dirt roads so I guess from here out I need to pay more attention to blowing the dust off the back and keep those guides lubed up.
It was really crudded up in there. Lots of lube and time didn't help at all. The cable on the side closest to the motor was locked up. I replaced the regulator with a new Toyota part and it works like new again. I did have to reset the limits. There is a video for the 4th gen model that essentially works the same and shows how to replace the regulator. Since I couldn't raise the window to access the bolts holding the window, it was harder. Not impossible, but one of the bolts was only and 1/8 of a turn or less at a time with a box end wrench. Ratcheting wrench wouldn't fit. Anyway, I'm not sure what the best preventative maintenance would be other than lubing the cable if you can get in there.
