Runner getting NEW Nittos as we speak

Yea I know... I washed her this weekend so I'm trying to wait a little bit before I get all muddy. No I didnt get the 5th spare.. still got the Dunlopper down there.

Son, call us back when you've gotten through college and grad school or law school or med school and have some fancy initials behind your name that most people don't have.

We bought our own cars and paid our own insurance and paid for the gas and all the expesnes of owning a car. No daddy giving us cars. So pardon RWRIGHT if he incorrectly ASSUMED you were mature enough to BUY your own car.

A lot of tire shops can/will order these for you if you ask even though they don't really carry them. Both shops I went to did not carry them and didn't even know what tire I was talking about. They both said they could order it and in fact the one did and it was no problem. Took 1 day for them to get the tires and installed the following day.

Did you buy a 5th tire for your spare? I can't decide whether to get four Revos (265/65) or five Nittos (265/70). Either way, it would end up costing about the same. Problem is, its tough to find Nittos around here, and for some reason, I'm not crazy about ordering them online and having them delivered.

You could try discount tire direct(?) have them dropped ship to a tire place and have them put them on.

I went for the 5th tire. You just never know when you might need it, ie. road trip or out on a trail.

hey guys, just wanted to know if the nitto terragrapplers has better handling compared to the bfgoodrich's and the stock dunlop's. Please help. thanks...fyi the 265/70/R17
 
The differences are night and day and I've had a fair amount of driving a couple of vehicles with BFGs.

My Nittos are surprisingly grippy on the dry pavement and put BFGs to shame in the wet and in the snow the Nittos are already sipped and have good turn in grip on slick surfaces.
 
Hey guys, has anyone of you experienced any rubbing on their mudflaps/fender well with their 265/70/17 Nitto's? I have 03 SR5 and planning to get a bigger tires this year, but I'm just afraid that it would ruin my suspension,mileage,acceleration and handling with this tire. Please help, my existing Dunlops are almost gone. FYI, my truck is still in stock height. thanks!
 
My milelage is about 1-2 mpg worse since the change..........but it's hard to tell b/c I only have about 1,000 miles on my 4runner.

Hey everybody, what kind of mileage are you getting with your 265/70/17 NTG's?

As far as performance, they feel much better than stock.

No rubbing at all. You mileage will go down slightly. Mine went down by 1mpg or less. Acceleration suffered a little but I didn't do tests to quatify it. no issues with the suspension.
 
Are you guys taking into account that the odometer reports about 4% less miles traveled with the larger tires in your MPG calculations?
 
Well son, maybe you can call daddy and he can hire someone to post multiple pics for you. Just messing with you! Who calls themsleves olliebear anyways? He's probally an ambulance chaser and was having a slow day trying to convince people why they shoud sue the person walking across the street that they failed to see and ended up hitting them. I hope that's not how he talks to his clients.

Anyways, I have my 265/70/17 NTG's on order through discounttires. Should have the shoes on by next Tuesday. Thanks all for the reviews!
 
Finally got my NTG's in 265/70/17 mounted ...a....n...d.... I LOVE it. Looks great and the little extra lift is definitely noticible and welcome. No rub whatsoever. There is slightly more tire noise but it's by no means bothersome. You can hear it a bit more with the windows down but it's just fine. Ride so far is great.
