Running Rola Rack without fairing

So I've got a Rola Vortex and the wind noise above 65mph is kinda annoying. Has anyone here removed the fairing to reduce noise? It also feels like its vibrating at high speed, the rack is tight and wont budge but I can feel it humming along at 70mph if I put my hand on the sunroof cover.

I had a landrover discovery with a massive factory roof rack and that thing barely made any noise and they never came with fairings.

I think removing the fairing might make it worse.

Are you sure the cross bars are tight? Double check those.

yes all the fasteners are tight. I'm going to take the rack off this weekend, jbweld the holes shut and remount it. There were some similar postings on a few other forums and taking off the fairing helped.

mine is relatively quiet but i also have the lowering kit on mine and i think that makes a difference as well.

Before installing the lowering kit, the noise on mine was terrible; now it's not too bad. Also, moved it towards the back as far as would go.

Tried to run it first without the fairing but it was super loud. Much more quieter with the fairing.
