Safari snorkel on a 5th gen?

I waited until I got the go ahead by ARB USA to post this (keep in mind ARB USA is the US distributor for ARB australia so they have very little say in product development). But the current plan is Safari snorkels for for 3rd Gen Tacoma AND 5th Gen 4Runner will begin shipping in august, with retailers getting them in late August/September.

I'll be getting the first production one to swap out my prototype, for longevity and durability reasons.

I'll keep you guys in the loop. But "soon"...

I hope someone puts together a group buy, I'll be in.

Are you for real. If it doesn't go to the air box or air intake track, how can it be functional?
I suppose it could help cool the engine in extremely hot temperatures but the best way to do this would be to point the opening the other way (towards the windshield). This would create a venturi effect and pull air from under the hood out as the vehicle moves forward.

Are you for real? The base of the windshield is a high-pressure spot, not low-pressure.

Yes, a PROTOTYPE, one that if it breaks would leave me up shit creek. I've also been a test mule vehicle for them for the past 7 months, with responsibilities to provide performance data for them.

I get the first production unit because I carry the most risk. Keep that in mind.

They said they'll build me another 3D printed one as a backup if they do decide to shit can the product. I know they'd take care of me either way. But I do carry a risk.
