Safari snorkel on a 5th gen?

Yes, what vehicles are available in other markets are great and there usually is a reliability and durability factor built in. This is usually not the case in the American market. Unfortunately, the American market has demanded creature comforts, tech and road manners over function and durability, hence why some of us are always drooling over what we cannot have here. Too many people are concerned about "Flash" and looks and could care less about long term reliability.

I do not want to side track this thread with a sidebar discussion, so bring on that snorkel, I have a end of year bonus ready to blow unnecessary items for my 4Runner!

Cool, but Ford has been making better vehicles than Toyota for the last 8 years.

The new Raptor is so much of a better deal than the Tacoma TRD Pro it isn't even a contest.

Again the Ranger is the current vehicle to beat right now, so Safari has their full weight, along with ARB's products, supporting it.

Better.. that is extremely subjective.... Toyota trucks are generally fantastic in terms of reliability... but they do continue to move at a snails pace in terms of innovation.

I'm hoping the competition (that is about to hit hard in the US market) will get them off their cans.

The Ranger is coming, plus the Chevrolet zr2 hitting showrooms in the spring looks fantastic. Even Jeep will have a mid size truck wrangler soon... Just hope they respond with something a bit more exciting. So far, I just shake my head every time they come out with something new.

It's hard to compare a 40k Taco to a 65k F150 as well...

Not that I'm defending the Toyota as I agree, the trd pro package is lame duck compared to the raptor packaging and features, but not in the same ball park price wise either...

Odd I would have to disagree on the raptor for the last 8 years... Being a Long time member of SVT performance I have seen more than a few of these trucks with major problems.

I've seen that happen on a tundra and a Tacoma.

Also the price comparison between the Tacoma trd pro is false. The raptor is not 65k unless you build an absolutely maxed out crew cab. Whereas the Tacoma trd pro is overpriced unless you like spending extra money on some rigid lights and fox shocks. At 50k for the raptor you get an absolute monster and basically twice the vehicle for not a ton more. I'm smitten. I want that or the ranger.

Anyways back to the snorkel. I'll be smashing my original prototype this week. Office space style.

You still have to compare like options though...hard to put your "base" cloth seated raptor up to leather...which makes you get into at least a 3k option package OR if 4.10's and more tech a $9100 option package....no ala cart options....so it is a solid 15-20k more to have some similar options, again, not in the same league, they are too different to compare!




Back to snorkels, can you make a office space (with ghetto boys music) video since that is your forte? Epic it would be.....mind blowing it will become.:trophy:

I never would have thought that having a high clearance bumper would affect any system on the vehicle, but a massive light bulb went off in my head reading this. Also I want to justify my snorkel every chance I can!
