Safari snorkel on a 5th gen?

Andrew, you'd be better off ordering from Josh. His order of 7 is 3 months past promised. I just don't see ARB sending any one vendor enough to allow the vendor to cut prices, plus ARB is notoriously strict with pricing. I'd hate to see you have funds tied up for months on a deal that won't likely happen.

T A Performance has worked with ARB in the past. I scored a Locker and Comp. for a pretty good price. Another vendor complained and they cut the Group Buy short. Was the only hitch and I was lucky I jumped early. So you are correct ARB is tight on their pricing, and they don't do GBs often, but TAP might be able pull this off for the people that can wait it out. It will probably take awhile for delivery, considering the distance involved. But I will say I've had good experiences with TAP on other GBs FWIW.

TAP has been pretty good so far with everything. The price is pretty good, at least in my opinion. Some are willing to wait, I'm overseas at the moment and have to wait either way.

For those of you still waiting on the video tutorial, I will have one as soon as I take delivery of my unit. Unfortunately I have no eta as my order with ARB is on hold until they can allocate one for me. All I know is as of some time yesterday it was still on hold. The order was initially places on 4/21 after waiting for weeks with Sierra Expeditions and no information coming from anywhere else.

For those which twitching hands and feet, if you GO SLOW and not let emotion take control, the installation is actually very straight forward and simple (once you come to terms with permanently modifying your fender and A-Pillar. A dremel and cutting disc will work beautifully for the cutting of the fender. A metric step bit will be the go-to for expanding the holes and drilling the A-pillar. Be sure to have lots of blue masking tape and touchup paint of your choice to coat the interior of the holes (such that they aren't left bare to rust).

To me it looked like the BW flare was trimmed too much on the Expedition Overland 4runner. There was a huge gap between the flare and the snorkel. Yours looks better as there's not much of a gap there. I guess the lesson here is trim a little bit, test the fit, repeat.

Thanks and agree, In the pic it looks like they have a huge gap but the edge trim around the flare is darker so it appears huge. However, In person looking at their rig, they did cut a little bit deeper but it's hardly noticeable blended with the paint/wrap.

Yeah when I saw the expedition 4runner it did have a big gap. Then why I saw great-ape his was nicely fitted with the snorkel. Looks way cleaner too. I like it

Cut the big fender hole first, they are much easier with that access. I even got a couple out without breaking them even though I had plenty of replacement clips.

Maybe my skids will be on the same boat... Seems like ARB products are difficult to source these days.

You can try a search on IH8Mud.com. There were a couple of guys there that painted their snorkels. You might also e-mail Slee Offroad because I'm pretty sure Christo painted the snorkel on one of his Cruisers.

The snorkels look great on the 5th gens. Can't wait to see pics of these trucks putting the snorkels to the test in water!

As these trucks have ~20 rubber plugs in the bottom of the body that are not guaranteed to be entirely sealed. I strongly urge everyone to reconsider their trucks fording capability.

Quick fords can be done, but anything that will last over 10 seconds and is above say, door height, will only serve to invite water into the cabin of your truck.

If sometime down the road you have carpet that smells like rotten socks and rust on your floor pan, know you've been forewarned.
