Sasha Grey – tristero's SR5 build thread

I bought a 2010 Magnetic Grey Metallic SR5 in January of 2015.

My fiancée and I named her Sasha Grey after one of our favorite actresses :girl:

I traded up from a 1999 TRD Tacoma.
We had some good times together.

Great truck, and I never did anything except change the oil every once and a while and change the tires, brakes, or whatever else was broken or needed to be replaced. As of the time I sold the truck it had 268,000 miles on it with no major maintenance and it was still running strong.

Unfortunately for the 4Runner I was recently engaged, and therefore will be saving my money for friends and family to eat and get embarrassingly drunk at our wedding instead of the much needed mods for the Toyota.

Nice snag tristero. And congrats on the pending nuptials. If I may ask what is that handgun in the picture? I pride myself on being fairly knowledgable on firearms but that one is drawing a blank with the open slide and fixed barrel.

It's a Smith & Wesson 422—my very first handgun. My grandfather got it for me on my 7th birthday.

I got the LED setup from CarID, which is the same price as superbrightleds.com. I also tried out a couple of the cheap JDM DE3175 from Amazon. When I replace them I'll probably just go through superbrightleds.

Finally got the parts for the raptor grill from Craig this week so I did some painting.

I used some self-etching primer and did 4 light coats of the Magnetic Grey Metallic on a Lagunitas IPA box.

After installing the raptor grille I decided to go with the Satoshi until I'm a little less stock. I built this from the perforated gt mesh from customcargrills.com

I took most of the week off and headed up to Bear Valley. After planning the trip for over a month I was really excited to do my first real off-roading trip to Slick Rock—but the weather didn't want to cooperate.

Day 2 of the trip: Headed out to Slick Rock and the temperature started dropping. So we headed back to Lake Alpine.

Day 3: Woke up to 18" of fresh snow instead of the forecasted 2-3"

All of the really good trails were snowed in and were getting worse, but we decided to try it out anyway.

Thanks! That would explain why I couldnt find anything, they don't have crap for 2014 and 15. Would definitely like to go amber though.

Not sure how accurate this is regarding 2014+ but I would be extremely surprised if they swapped any of the interior bulb sizes

My buddy's FZJ80 got stuck down the hill but we got out quickly by pulling about 6' forward with the winch.

Driving in 2' of fresh snow is something that we don't really get to do very often.
