Scan Gauge II Codes..New stuff

I reset mine to factory defaults last night so it could reconnect and it came up with ISO this time. The TXD and RXD codes We are using are a better match for the ISO codes than the KWPS codes on Scangauge's support site.

I added the following codes:

Transmission Temperature #1
TXD: 686AF101B4
RXF: 044105B40000
RXD: 2808
MTH: 00090005FFD8
NAME: TFT
Notes: n/a, displays in degrees F

Air : Fuel Ratio #2
TXD: 686AF10124
RXF: 04410524

Notes: Ratio
1150 is Rich/ 1775 is LEAN
**My Runner stays around 1453 to 1465 most of the time now with this code

Air to Fuel Ratio (Lambda) #3

MTH: 006400800000
NAM: AFL
Air fuel ratio, > 14.7 is lean, < 14.7 is rich
**My Runner stays around 9.9 to 10.1 most of the time now with this code
Maybe due to the ISR Mod.

This one does not work. The 3008 RXD code is for newer vehicles.

I still need to add the Short and Long Fuel trim bank codes.

Glad to see those codes worked for you, and you're seeing the right AFR's now. I'd forget about that Lambda if I were you, it's not going to give you any useable information.

BTW, that's the same link I posted earlier in the thread. :moon:
 
Scanguages come with all of the metric units too, just select those upon start up. Kilometers, degrees C, Liters, etc..

I just tried adding the ALT code to my SCII and it wouldn't allow me to add the 'B' at the end of the RXF code? Almost like the code line ran out of characters, it kept bringing me back to the beginning of the code line. What am I missing?

You may have missed the first space. Don't try too hard the ALT doesn't work.
it just spits out alpha numerics that make no sense right now.

That's one that I got to show some numbers finally but isn't working correctly yet.

It wouldn't even let me try to put a space in. After the 4 zeros, the cursor would just move back to the front of the code line like there were no more character spaces to input anything. It's no loss since the code isn't working properly yet anyhow. Once the kinks get sorted out I'll try again. Thanks for all the work you guys have spent trying to make these codes work!

Can't wait to get my Scangauge II! Really hoping the trans temp code works on my '01 SR5! Hey has anyone found any new codes or functions yet? Also, can I use it to calibrate my speedometer? I seem to be off by about 4 mph at 60 mph, according to the numerous speed displaying devices here...

The SGII will only read the speed the computer is sending to the speedometer. You will not be able to calibrate or change the read out from the SGII. In order to calibrate the speedo you will need a unit like the one from Jet Performance, or a new drive gear in the transmission.
 
Oh well, thanks for the heads up! Just really really needed a means to check codes and monitor my trans temp, but wondering now if I should just get a trans gauge? I guess if it shows real time mpg then I can correct my driving skills and pay for it that way :vader: edit: lol I meant driving habits haha no skill here

The SGII will pay for itself in several ways other than just the real time mileage feedback. That was the reason I got mine though and on long road trips it has paid for itself by being able to figure most effecient speed to set my cruise control at to gain best MPG. The fact I can run CE codes and help diagnose other issues is a added benefit.
 
Sounds good, curious to see how my driving habits can improve mpg! Do a lot of people bug you for it? i.e. should I get a replacement cable? Also, is there any way of hooking it up to a PC for more elaborate, like, spread sheet or bar graph type displays? Thought I had read somewhere this could be done...

This is actually incorrect. The (current) SG2 does read the speed the computer is sending the speedo, but it also has a built in correction factor that you can program based on the size of your tires versus stock. You can program the scanguage to output a speed that is X% higher or X% lower than the value the vehicle's OBD2 system is sending it.

This is a great way to account for tire size changes and gearing changes. Just find the calculators online, do the math, and program in the appropriate % correction.
 
I just seen a bunch of posts on that, try "4th gen scangauge II" I made the mistake of looking for "scangauge 2" at first.
 
For 285/75/16 tires there is a 7.3% difference from the stock size of 265/70/16. The ScanguageII lets you set a 7.0% difference which is close.
