I have read the majority of threads concerning the Scion head units but did not find any information concerning the adaptability of connecting a Pioneer SIR-PNR2 or SIR-PNR1 Sirius tuner. Before buying my 06 4Runner, I had a Pioneer HU with the SIR-PNR1 in my previous car. The SIR-PNR1 plugs into the back of the HU via a IP-Bus connector and can control the Sirius reciever via the HU, Eliminating the need of FM modulation. Since the Sirius reciever has an input IP-Bus, I then had a Pioneer 12 disc CD changer daisychained to the HU. The Pioneer HU would control both devices via this IP-Bus connection.
My question here is, will the SIR-PNR2 or SIR-PNR1 connect to the Scion HU without having to by the Sirius reciever from the dealer?
What does the Scion Sirius reciever/connector look like? I bet it is the same as the Pioneer SIR-PNR1 ($99)and Scion just marks it up.
As soon as I get a definate answer, I will be bidding for a Scion HU on Ebay. I want a better HU, that fits the factory location, without loosing the Aux input and steering wheel controls.
