Sickkk. If I didn't install the kicker hideaway sub under my driver seat, this would have been my choice. The square mounting bracket cuts out all the space I need. Seems all the premade brackets are square like this.

It's funny you post this today as just yesterday I set up a business account.. I can get you a full two row replacement interior leather package for around $850 shipped. I just started this and don't have any pictures of the installed kit yet but I will in the coming weeks. I will also be making a install video for our 3rd gens. I can get any color combo but custom two-tones take a bit longer because they have to be cut. Also they are no return so we have to get it right the first time. If anyone is interested PM me your contact info and I'll do everything I can to help you out.

IMO you're going to hate those thigh bolsters getting in and out of the vehicle. They're designed for racing purposes, but suck for daily driving. And you'll wear out the tops of them climbing in and out.
PRP Daily Driver, Mastercraft Rubicon and Corbeau Moab are better options I think.
Does anyone know if the Tacoma slider brackets will work in a 3rd gen Runner?

Yea when I found those I was just browsing ebay but thanks to you I found a good deal on a set of Corbeau Moab Reclining Seats and they are affordable ... would u happen to know what hardware would be needed

I did this last weekend. Very easy.
I didn't use any hog rings because I didn't transfer over the seat pressure sensor. The passenger side seat belt light is still off so I consider it a success.

Is the foam flat or actually gone? If just flat from time they can be brought back to life with steam. There are videos on YouTube showing guys using an upholstery steamer and the foam plumps right back up in less than a minute.
I installed ProCar suspension seats in my Duramax and those mounts took about 4hrs to fabricate onto the stock Chevy power seat mounts. It was fun welding and designing them. Very comfortable seats, very snug and they cost me $200 for the pair.

I found the Recaros on Craigslist. The are mid 1980s era Recaro LS which the seller was going to use in his BMW 2002 project. Sadly they had just been recovered in black alcantara before I picked them up. Anyway my interior guy redid them in German vinyl as I wanted a bit more durability. We decided to go with the white large Recaro embossing to give it the look like this might have been some 90s JDM option hahahaha.
I also threw some seat heaters in, but haven’t yet got them wired.

Think I paid $750 for the seats and $250 for the brackets and sliders. Recovering them cost way too much, but they turned out awesome so I’m not complaining.
Sure, maybe $1k is high, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you keep your 4runner around another 10-15 years, and drive the thing when its still 30 years old, and upkeep on interior/exterior/mechanical, who's to say you made the 'wrong' investment?
I doubt for the sake of fuel economy you'll be driving the 4runner when its 30 years old, but you never know.

Hey you never know! The fuel economy isn't great on the newer models and they are still selling like hot cakes.
