I installed SlyFox's bypass kit in my GX470 and it works great. No more vacuum cleaner noise and no more xmas tree lights on the instrument cluster.
Although my valves were closed, I am going to install the plates anyway just to take care of it completely.
His kit is super easy to install. It took only 10 minutes to do once I decided how I wanted to route the wire and where to cut to make it look completely stock and not show any signs of being installed.
Very, very straightforward and is much more cost effective than the two companies which sell a kit. Yes those companies sell a kit that comes with factory plugs to make it plug and play but at a cost that is 3X-5X the cost of this kit. If this was a three year old car I would likely opt for the plug and play option but I am putting it on am 11 year old car.

hey slyfox75,
I read few pages, I got the p1442 code with bank 1 stuck close, that means I dont need the plates correct? Also, do you have a DIY/Video/Pictures on to how to install your kit? also whats your paypal or venmo? I'll send over the payment. How much is it?

The instructions in his kit are very thorough, with pics.
Didn't see this thread before, lucky timing for the sidebar. My valves were stuck open, I was able to get them closed, I thought, and installed a bypass but recently the codes have been coming back.
Has anyone else had the codes return with or without installing the blockoff plates? Read a bunch of pages but not seeing any mentions of it.

Do you know what codes you are getting? Depending on codes we can pinpoint what you need. Could be something completely unrelated(O2, evap, ABS, etc)

I see a lot for the bypass kit, however I’m about to do some major surgery anyways on my 06 T4R Limited and am wondering if you can just remove the whole system all together? Is this a realistic possibility that isn’t more than a bypass? What is needed if so?

You cannot remove entire system with a "regular" bypass. Well.....you can. You will have CEL and multiple codes however.
You can check out Hewitt Tech website and ask Paul(owner) he has a new system that I think allows you to remove entire system @~$500 range. Most people just leave it and bypass it.(easy/cheaper/no real advantage to remove)
I just got a P1445 code and this is the most reassuring post I've found on it so far. I'm hoping it's this simple to resolve.
Anyone ever run into the issue where you couldn't install the block-off plates because the bolts were too rusty? I can't even put a 10mm wrench on them. The wrench just spins. If they were easy to get to, I'd just cut them. But that's not possible given their location. My 08 left me sit earlier this week with a valve stuck open. It looks like I'll be unloading about $2,100 at the dealer soon

Effect on emissions test?
I just got my '07 V8. Been reading a lot on this subject here on the forum. I don't have symptoms of a failing pump or valves yet, but I'm considering a preemptive bypass install to avoid any issues in the future. My question: has anyone had an issue passing emissions inspection after installing? I'm in PA if that makes a difference. Thanks.

Hey slyfox, just became the new owner of an 06 GX470. So far everything is great mechanically, but I want to ensure this engine lasts forever.
Given that I don't have any CEL or currently have any shopvac sounds at startup, I don't think I have any issues currently. Also, the car has lived in the bay area its whole life so probably not a lot of cold-weather starts.
I'm ready to get your kit, but just want to know whether I also need to install the plates. I'd prefer to "do it the right way", but unclear if the plates are needed if the system is otherwise working normally. Thanks for your help mate.
