Mountain Stream
One of dozens of mountain streams we've been crossing. This one is a little deceptive in that it looked only a few inches deep - it was actually about a foot. The 4Runner has taken us through some fairly hair roads, with deeper streams, mud slopes, and decent sized boulders. I would rate some of them up to about a class 5. Sorry I don't have more pictures of some of the worst trail-roads we've been on, but when it's raining, and the only other person is my wife, and we're trying to get somewhere, it's not always "politically correct" to stop & take pix of the truck!

Speaking of Sparky the wonder dog -
he just loves the back of the 'Runner. He thinks it's his home on wheels! We just got back from a little 5 mile hike, and he was major thirsty.
But boy can he shed! I made the mistake of rolling down the back window going down the highway, before opening the fronts, and man did the hair fly all over! Won't do that again!

Actually, we think he's a lab-chow mix. But I've seen other mixes that look like him too.

Great photos. I tow my 26 foot travel trailer occasionally with my 4Runner and agree that it has a great torque curve, and is short that enables backing into tighter spots. I also have the Jordan brake controller.
I note from one of your photos that you a rear spoiler, also the dirt on the rear window. Do you think its worth $300 for the spoiler? Does your's have an led brake lamp?

Ive been here for a few months. Ive been on the blueridge, my wife is from Carrol Cty (Dugspur) and we take the Blue Ridge Parkway all the time, is nice in the snow. I am more used to Kings Canyon and the lower Sierras since I was stationed in San Deigo for 5 years. Ill be hitting up Shanendoah NP this winter for some backpacking, expect lots of pics! Colorado is on my wish list for both backpacking and hunting/fishing, I hope I make it there one day!drake3 said:
