This was really more of a "I'd be pissed, if it wasn't so humorous" post...
I am fairly adept under the hood...rebuilt my mustang's motor back in the late 90's, with the guidance of a wrencher/racer...next vehicle was a mercedes SL, which, was like looking under the hood of a space shuttle to me. The 4Runner has been a dream since 2006, when I bought it with 97,000 miles.
I jinxed her with "million mile" comments, however.
I will be starting with the radiator flush, coolant, thermostat, engine temperature sensor...and if she gets running again, then I'll go from there. I took it for a rough ride last night...lost of misses and "popping", but it never overheated after 30 minutes.
I will likely buy another Gen3 4X4, and do as my brother said..."FRANKENSTEIN IT!"...with hopes to have TWO eventual vehicles, and NOT a ride with a donor car sitting in the garage!
This being said....has anyone here attempted the Turbo Diesel conversion???
...or is that blasphemy? :gun5:
