Has anyone taken the stock shift knob apart? It seems like it snaps together like the rest of the toy. Would like to leather wrap the silver plastic.
I went with Ellis Precision.
I've always loved Ferrari's gated shifter ball so this is what I chose. Feels great too.
I bought this one on amazon and love it. Feels great in the hands
I'm sorry - that's just humorous. It's frickin' automatic! What in the world does it have in common with a vintage Ferrari? LOL. Reminds me.of the time a guy told me he "double clutched" his auto.
Change for the sake of change. Mustang guys do it too. Never could figure it out. LOL!

It's called 'personalization' - little things to set your 4Runner apart from the millions of other 4Runners.
I have these for my TEP. Had for 2 years and no wear or issues.

I know the OP already made his choice but just wanted to drop one more vendor for shift knobs that I recently found. Just in case anyone else is looking for knobs. Looks like they do custom designs too but pricey.

I don't know of any OEM matching transfer case shift knob to the trd shift knob. I did end up replacing the transfer case shift boot with leather and red stitching to keep the theme going, and a red billiard ball for the transfer case..... So the theme is, everything is blacked out but the transfer case knob.....lol.
I probably would have been happy with the OEM transfer case shift knob but I got this thing for billiard balls.
mrblah I’m kicking around the idea of replacing my t-case shift boot as well. Do you have a link to the one you purchased? Thanks!
