should we recruite people to T4R.ORG??

on the campus that im going to school at there are prolly close to 30-40 4runner 2nt, 3rd, and 4th gen. most are stock and quite a few are driven my chicks (which i have no problem with) but there are 3-4 that are tricked out. im basically alone here in Oklahoma so i dont have people to play with and there are not many (legal) places to wheel and i would love to go play. i went looking for them but i cant find them in the lots that are tricked. i was wundering if anyone has ever thought about making something like a simple "come join the T4R.ORG family" that could be put on the ones that someone might want to hang with. if the higher ups could think about this and through something together that we could help extend the family out because i barely found this and i have talked to FJ and other lifter truck guys and we wont know if there is anything in Oklahoma.

Just write a note about how you like there 4runner and how they should join t4r.org and put it under there wiper.

Haha it's funny because when I had my 4runner at Oklahoma State I made friends with a few of the toyota and other wheelers out there. Sticky notes would probably be easiest. Let me know if you want to know of any wheeling spots in Stillwater.

Thought bout this a while back and i think having like a simple design on a business card wouldnt be too bad since it would seem a little more legit then a stickey.

I like the idea of a small business card. This has definitely crossed my mine multiple times seeing T4R's around campus. We should get something rolling...

To the OP, maybe you could put a T4R.ORG sticker on your truck. In your pictures I saw Thor, Fox, Skyjacker and OSU stickers on there, but no T4R.ORG. I know when I see a tricked out Runner I look to see if they might have a forum sticker...just a thought.

I suppose I can't say much. I have 2 Runners and neither have forum stickers. Who is the keeper of the stickers? Momo? Is that his username? I may have to get me a sticker for my "new" 98 model. That could be my first mod!

yeah i want a sticker but i literally have no money in my wallet right now and if i have money after i buy a 30-06 i would like to get one.

Just gonna play devils advocate even though I like the idea, but I'm naturally a forum guy. I think most people with modified cars and trucks that aren't on the forums are like that because they don't care about online communities as much, and that's fine because in many cases it shows in their post content, ie just posting when they have a problem or something.

If someone is enthusiastic and wants to join an online community, all they would have to do is type "xxxxx forum" into google and they'd find it instantly, like T4R.org. I think there would be some converts and some peoples eyes would be opened, but most will just throw out a business card on their windshield without really looking, its usually spam anyways right? For this reason alone, I think recruiting using a personal note is the best to draw people in.

There are a ton of 4runners at Clemson. We even have some 5th Gens now. Not many are modded though.

You can see the lower ground clearance of the 5th Gens on that last picture.

im going to have to agree with you on that one. before t4r i wasnt really a big forum type guy. dont even really use facebook and stuff. but i was searching for a blacked out head light how to on google, and found t4r. and it was probably the best day of my life. hahaha. i spend several months just searching before i actually joined.

but on the other hand, maybe they just dont know its out there? they want to do mods, but dont know anything and havnt really looked into it. thats where a simple card would be cool. its not like a gun to the head. YOU MUST JOIN THIS FORUM! aha. jk. i wouldnt have minded someone coming up to me and saying "hey, nice 4runner, you should totally check out this site, alot of helpful info." and just leaving it at that.

and i have thought about a way to tell people, but when i see other 4runners around town, its usually the older folks 50 -70ish and i doubt they care to put leds in their domes.. if ya know what i mean. the younger crowd around here drives older gens, i feel like i should trade in for a 98 or something.

long story short. i just went with the decals from momo. best way without bothering someone.

I think it would be good. They can take your suggestion or not. It is just a suggestion and if they end not liking the forum they don't have to join. I wish I had found this forum prior to buying my 95. Would have saved me some trouble. I really wish I had found this forum when I had my 87, but I think it had just started then. It helps a ton of people save money and spend money, but in a positive way. I've suggested forums for friends who bought Tacomas and such.
Plus being able to find people close to you is really helpful. I have 1 friend with a vehicle with 4wd, so it is nice to be able to set up meets and help with mods from locals.

I'm at OSU in stillwater ok. There are lots them but probably all but 7 are bone stock. There big pickups that are for show like fake bull bars and fake performance parts but there are some good ones. In my edition there is 10 runners I bet and 5 big lifted trucks.

We had business cards in our Mustang club/Forum. They were always good when you saw a modified ride and wanted them to join or at least check out the forum.

like the idea though. i was at sonic the other night and there were a bunch of scion drivers chillin'. different crowd but same idea. lol but i'm sure sonic wouldn't be the choice location to meet. wish there were places here in h-town to (legally) wheel. i'mma get a T4R.org sticker as well as one that says, "Chyeah. It's got 2WD."
