Shrockworks Rocker Trim

Does anyone have a picture of what these look like on an SR5/Limited also, can you paint something once its powder coated? I'd be interested if it cleans up the look vs just pulling the rocker trim off to run sliders. I'm not a huge fan of trimmed rockers but I like it better than nothing at all.

I don't have mine yet but I did order it in Jan. Once I get it and installed I can post pics. I already have the Metal Tech OPOR 4Runner Trail Edition Sliders installed on my 2011 Sr5.

Hope you have a ton of patience or better luck than I with Shrockworks. Last year I ordered, told 2 month wait. 3 months later told they were going for powder coat and would ship soon. 4 months later no word so called again, apparently hadn't even started fabrication. Pretty disappointing and was disgusted enough with their dishonesty and customer service I cancelled my order.

Too bad but it worked out as I simply trimmed the rockers and it not only looks great but saved a chunk of change. I would recommend going that route. Seeing pictures of rigs with the trim simply removed makes me cringe. Too unfinished for me.

Still I would like to see some shots from someone who actually received and installed these.

Don't know the answer to painting a powder coated surface.
In my opinion its a nice clean look, as is cutting the rocker trim - which happens to be free.

Why would you want to paint over the powder-coating? Why not simply order it powder-coated in the color you want?

I have scraped up my sliders and simply used some primer and black automotive paint (duplicolor 202 to match the truck) to clean things up and it looks fine and I have not had any issue with it. Clean, sand to clean up the edges, clean again, primer, paint.

Thanks for the info guys- if they have them reasonably available I plan on ordering a set. I don't want to cut my rockers A because I don't trust myself and B if I get rid of it for whatever reason I'd likely pull the sliders and place the factory rocker panels back on. I was looking to paint the sw rockers to match - I could care less if the sliders get the powder coat scratched as that's what they are meant for.

I removed my rocker trim today and the truck looks much better without it. I went ahead and ordered the Shrockworks Rocker Trim for a cleaner look. When I get it installed I will post some pics.

Good concept but the price point is too much for my blood. Ill sport my trimmed rockers.
Plus, the last time we covered these on the forum there was the issue of the unfinished look at the rear of each trim piece. I wonder if Shwks fixed this...
I look forward to whomever gets a set installed posting some before and after pics.

Can you take a picture of it with the door open? Also is the rubber door seal exposed to the elements of dirt/rocks/sand etc. when the door is closed. I had my rockers off when I put on my sliders and didn't like how the door seal was exposed at the bottom. So I cut my rockers to protect the rubber door seal.

There aren't existing bolt holes but holes where the original rocker trim is held in with plastic clips. The trim comes with something like a rivnut (definitely not a rivnut or nut-sert but something similar - wish I could remember what it's called) that allows you to thread in the provided screws and washers. It's a pretty straight forward install and does not require any cutting or trimming. A bit of the front mud flap/wheel well liner will hang loose and that could be trimmed if you so choose.
