Shrockworks Sliders Crooked....

Ok.

So I finally got my sliders and after everything is bolted up nice and tight the rear part of the slider hangs down lower than the front. The only way to make them even is to not install the lower crossmember bolts on the front. The rear can't be pushed up to match the front because of the bolts that hold the slider under the frame....Am I missing something or were they welded wrong? If i don't run the front crossmember bolts i can make them even BUT there is a gap between them. I attached a picture. Its like this on both sides.

Should i just run a washer or spacer between the crossmember and the lower slider leg? Or Snug up the front and cut the two bottom pieces off the rear so it can slide up to match the front? Or just weld them? Is it ok to run them with out these bolts?

How noticeable of a difference? I seen similar question about the gap in from the crossmember and the response was to just tighten it and it should pull together. Don't know anything about the one side being crooked though.

Could we see a side view of your truck, showing the uneven front to rear line of the sliders? How big a problem is it?
My inclination would be to put a washer/spacer between the frame and that front tab - don't leave those bolts off.

That lower frame gusset was probably welded just a fraction of a degree off onto the main slider mount, giving you the slight "pulling" effect you are experiencing. I'd throw a large washer or two (stainless steel of course, no zinc or nickle plated crap from home cheapo) in there and call it good. It won't change the structural characteristics of that gusset much if at all and you should retain a nice fit and finish. Good luck!

Yours are not defective; they are all like that:

If you put a level on them, they should show level. I thought I had a picture of that, but I can't seem to locate it at the moment. At the front I have about 1/4 inch gap, at the rear about 1/5 if I recall correctly. I've dropped the front passenger side on the slider and it did not move, close the gap, nor did my truck sustain any damage (dropped the front passenger wheel in a culvert.. don't ask :ear. The picture above was BEFORE I thanked God for having quality sliders!

Glad I'm not the only one. Just kind of sucks to wait 3 months for something and have it not be perfect. I'm going to get some washers today and snug it up

Yeah mine are that way, I assumed that it was just that the body line slopes down a bit from back to front in relation to the frame? The roof line, bottom window line and bottom of door line are all three different angles. Hard to tell which one is supposed to be "level" But I haven't actually looked too hard at it. I generally don't notice it

"Perfect" compared to what? compared to the frame they are straight. as mentioned, when you put a level on top they are "level". it's just optically when compared against the lower body lines. Considering I've dropped a 4,295 lbs to 4,805 lbs vehicle on them and they saved it without damage, I think they are pretty perfect as is :eyebrows:

Ok So i put a floor jack under that lower leg to get it as close to the crossmember as possible. Put in a stainless washer and cranked it down. Came up SLIGHTLY but as warthog said Theres so many different lines on the truck its hard to tell which one to go off of.

Thanks for posting! - nice to know what to expect when I get around to mine.
My sliders will have to wait for installation 'til the Spring (I live in the frozen north, have no garage, and I am a wimp!)
Hard to wait that long, after waiting almost 4 months for the sliders - I shall try to become more "ZEN"

Who knows you may have a better fit than I did. Frames are all a little different. There are tolerances that toyota allows and if it's within that gap it's cleared to leave the factory. I remember on my 4th gen I inatalled their bumper and it was off to one side about 1/8 of an inch. Just the way my frame was.
