So I got a conversion kit.
(Actually 2 I was going to convert both lows and fogs)

Plugged in the Passenger side, for a test run before tackling the drivers,
aaaaannnddd!!! Nothing.. :dammit:
(Idid this according to the instructions on the forum.)

Ok so no problem, I'll just plug in the other set up.. (read ballast ignitor light) and..... again nothing.
Same nothing.

I know the first issue would be the polarity (I switched it before install)
I have no other idea what it could be...

I shot an email to X-depot, but am waiting in the meantime..
Anyone have any ideas?

did you use the relay provided or just connect to plug and play? also thought i checked everything though one thing i did notice was the ceramic on the rod that goes parallel to the light was cracked.. does that matter??

Agree with checking the relays, also check all of your connections, say to the battery and ground. Seems odd that their kit doesn't work.

Did you try the second set to see if that one works?

I haven't checked the second set.. I was so pissed at the first set not working I thought I should give it some space.. will try tomorrow with the second set.

It seemed so cut and dry too..
I really feel stupid right now..
:frusty:

We've all been there for something. No worries. Plenty of suggestions will be offered. Only encouragement from me though; I've got no experience with the hid conversion.

Okki

I would first start by testing each ballast/bulb at the battery and work your way up to the headlight pigtails. First make sure they work directly at the battery and figure out which lead is positive and which is negative. Then figure out the polarity of the bulb connector and go from there.

I have not kept up with recent aftermarket HID technology but back in the day it was always a good idea to run the separate relay harness directly from the battery and only use the factory headlight connectors as a switch. However, I'm sure things have changed and the factory wiring might be able to handle the load just fine and/or the ballasts are more efficient nowadays and don't draw too much power? That you're going to have to figure out for yourself.

Hang in there, I'm sure once you eliminate a few variables things will start being more apparent as to exactly what's causing your wiring issues, just need to go slowly and step by step, good luck :)

I had some problems with mine as well. one of my connectors didn't fit really well into the other. Turned out I didnt snap it in far enough. Also, when you switch the wires for the polarity, make sure you seat it back in correctly.
I also didnt use their relay, though everyone seems to suggest it. I probably should have, but when I called them up, they said it was fine. I've been meaning to go back and do it right with the relay to the battery, just never had the time.

Just to check.. This plugs into the oem connector... Correct?

The Saga Continues..

Well the bummer is I gotta send the kit back..
The Up side is that X-Depot has been super supportive.. In both troubleshooting and replacement parts.
