Slick Rock June 6-7 2015

[MENTION=100687]Konkordmusk[/MENTION] and I will be heading up to the Slick Rock trail the weekend of June 6-7 and wanted to see if anyone else wants to join. I will most likely drive up Saturday morning as I have work Friday and wheel all day, then spend the night and maybe do some more wheeling Sunday before coming home. It's a fun trail, but sliders and a lift are a must.

Where: Slick Rock trail, Stanislaus National Forrest
Trailhead: 38° 28' 07.5" N 120° 00' 40.2" W

We'll be running the trail from the North to South, then a fire road will spit us back on HWY 4. We'll set up camp right after the second marker from the top. In fact, here are the directions to the trailhead, verbatim from the Backroads book:

To Get There: Take Hwy. 4 to Lake Alpine north of Bear Valley. Turn right at west end of lake following signs to Lake Alpine C.G. Head South, staying to the right as roads branch left. When the bike trail goes right, you go left. Bear right at blue cabin then right again at private drive. Follow narrow road to well-marked trailhead 0.7 miles from Hwy.4.

I'll be putting the finishing touches on wedding prep.

Plus new 285' ko2, now to figure out where to put the spare

Any chance you could send me your map you're using with the URD? I'm trying to figure out a good map for the 2.2. I need to find a spare now that I'll have a tire carrier.

Sounds great, it would be nice to have someone with a winch and I want to see that 5th gen on a real trail!

You just spoiled it with 35's how could you not like it? haha This might be the last summer with mine, so I'm going to get as much wheeling as possible.

Sweet! I wish I could go Friday, but I work till 5 and can't get the day off. I just don't want to deal with driving in the dark and traffic on Friday.

I haven't posted there yet as I was trying to keep it on the small side, but will anyways. It can go from 2 rigs to 15 over there real quick and that many rigs on that trail gets real slow.

I'll have to look for the map, at the time I got it gadget set it up with a safe mildly aggressively tune and I haven't done much to it, I do notice I have a few lean out spots if I hammer down the pedal on hills, so I just don't do it.
It's been a few years so, now I am actually hoping I still have it.

I had a buddy melt his heads on a Tacoma trying to tune it on his own with out a dyno so that's why I haven't touched the maps really.

Awesome, looks like we might have one guy from TW, which will make it a small group. That way we can get through the trail without a 30 min wait at each obstacle.

Sorry Robert looks like I am going to bail as well as my buddy. Weather looks like rain friday, saturday, and sunday.

Dang weather again.

Going to go North to the Lost Coast, if any want to join.

Need to do Slick Rock when it is not wet.
