Small cover above shift knob in center consol

Does anyone know what the little cover is right above the P letter in this pho
to? Mine is missing, and want to replace it, but not sure what to call it.

Also wondering what the purpose is of the "plug" underneath?

Under that cover is access to override the shift interlock system. You know, key on then foot on the brake to shift? You can stick a pen or thin screwdriver in the hole to depress a release button so the shifter can be moved to neutral without key or brake pedal needed. Mostly used for towing when a battery is dead so vehicle can go into neutral.

I would call it shift interlock override cover but I don't know the technical term.

Look for yours under your seats. Specifically under the carpet by the seat bolts. I have found two in that location. When you do get one, "glue" it in place with silicone. It will hold it in place but still allow it to be removed if you need to use it.
