I think it's a fair argument that covering the same section of trail - larger tires and lockers may allow you to use more finesse and break less stuff. It's certainly true that the larger tires and lockers mean you'll be going to areas that you otherwise would never have been able to even attempt without them. In that respect I'm completely in agreement.
But once you have all those things - that means you're going to push to the limit of what you now have. Or in this case if you're pulling someone else out you might run into the situation where you'd be better off stock for durability reasons.
