Been waiting for you to chime in. Hahahaha. I can't wheel and I can't camp. As soon as I can drive the Jetta (stick shift), the runner is going up on all 4s. You're more than welcome to come over and start cutting. I should have my heavy metal tech coils soon. Front and rear shocks need to be pulled to rebuild and revalve which will help with cycling travel for cutting. I've got brand new bushings for my UCAs. And I need to fix my rear uppers.

Been waiting for you to chime in. Hahahaha. I can't wheel and I can't camp. As soon as I can drive the Jetta (stick shift), the runner is going up on all 4s. You're more than welcome to come over and start cutting. I should have my heavy metal tech coils soon. Gonna see if I can get valved a tad softer. With 700s up front and heavy 3" in the rear she's definitely gonna be running stiff. Felt pretty good in death valley, but I had to keep an eye on dips at high speeds. my rears are just about at 40k with at least half of those on dirt. I can definitely tell that bumper weight is back there.

Damned bumper dropped me more than I expected for sure. Even without the camping gear and fridge. I'm actually going to lose some weight going from the steelies to these 16" center lines. Just need to get a spare wheel and full size spare.

Needs a coat of paint. Got a little rusty sitting on top of the runner. It's a little lop sided but it's sturdy.

The whole area is a maze of roads so be prepared in supplies and navigation you’ll be alright. I know of another group that will be in area as well that I’m coordinating with so we don’t end up nose to nose on a trail that has no room to pass

I'll be using topo maps and will have a google map of the area saved to my phone. Been studying the area on google earth for a couple weeks now. How's the trail from Brooklyn Mine Rd to OK Mine?

I've been debating whether to go that route or stick to Old Dale and stop by Gold Crown (among others).

It’s a fun trail that requires a little attention in the corners as they are a bit washed out and your on a shelf road, other than that no biggie especially if you have 4wd and experience. Once you get to ok mine and go to exit heading north there are a few ways to go , all are a shelf road with a long way down but not very technical. Just pay attention or you’ll take a trip a few hundred feet down the hill

I passed my Technician exam and am now a licensed ham operator! I have been dis-satisfied with my Baofeng radio for some time, and am looking into mobile rigs to install in the truck. I figured if i was going to use more power i should probably go legit. Its not a difficult process, and the test is now free. There are groups that provide the test every Saturday morning somewhere in San Diego county if you are interested.
