The water was up to the passenger side window to the center console, . It ended up frying my ecu

Took a bit of time to clean... I ended up using a hose and wet vac....lol

damn! thats gotta be the worst stuck 4th gen ive ever seen! bummer about the ecu though....
How does your interior smell now?

I have two existing issues:
1) dirvers side window will only go up when the button is pulled to the 'auto' position, but doenst go up automatically, the button has to be held. It goes down in both positions, but in the auto the button must be held, just like normal.

2) My keyless entry/alarm isnt working.


Im not too sure about where to go with these probs

I only had a nasty odor for about 1 week.

I was lucky as it was in the middle of summer in AZ, so everything pretty quickly after my hose down.

Your car still runs right?

yeah it runs normally, not once has the engine acted weird. I have been VERY meticulous as far as listening to the engine (idling and in gear) and feeling for irregularities in any way, but nothing yet. knock on holy wood. but hey, if the damn speaker is fine.......

but i do have two (afformentioned) issues. I just thank god toyota didnt put the ecu low in the right footwell :BOW:

I put two 'DampRid' tubs in the truck tonight and when I last looked they seemed to be working. Tommorow I continue with relentless shampooing

when I recarpted my Vette I went to home depot and got the carpet padding from there, its cheap and worked GREAT!

All you need is a utility knife to cut it up to fit....

thats a great idea, i never thought of HD!
I was running an errand today and my CEL came on, so I just cruised by the dealer and talked to the service manager, who is a friend of mine. I told her what happened and what the truck was doing. Turns out that some sort of EVAP system (i think having to do with fuel) had sucked up somewater..... so they dried it out and re-scanned the system multiple times so thats good. My driver window also started to act normally, however my keyless entry is still missing in action.
They didnt charge me for the work on the evap system, but they did charge me for a front and rear differential flush. The tech said there was water inside, so i said ok flush it. He made it sound as though the diff's whould be fine after that flushing... so we will see, how could I know or test?
The breathers were no were near the water level , where else could a little water squeege in at? Either way, the truck hasnt acted strangely thank god. I should be back together by friday or saturday.

They also told me that my front brakes are <10%, which I thought was a little soon.... (3yrs 2months) so i guess ill throw that into the mix of my next service.
