Any one have any info on these rims? Reviews? I hear almost all these style metal rims are basically the same and are made by the same manufacturers. I like these a lot.

Those Summit Racing rims won't fit stock, but if you keep the Spidertrax they might clear the calipers..? Not sure on that one. I don't have spacers, but ordered the exact same wheels and ended up having to sell them and buy a different kind. Ended up losing money in the end. :cry2: I'd go with some SCS wheels, or if you want steelies, go with the Wheelers Offroad type B like [MENTION=82211]TCMach[/MENTION] said. You shouldn't even need the spidertrax with those unless you just want a wide stance, which can look sweet.

Nice rig regardless! The yellow skid threw me off for a minute, but I like it!

Cool man I really appreciate the info. And yeah the yellow skid is kinda weird Lolz. I'll probably end up painting it black again or getting some after market skids way down the line :gossip:

Now you just need to spray everything behind your bumper a flat black and it'll look legit! Spray that skid plate and chassis black!!

The truck looks good dude! You got me thinking about a yellow skid plate, it would match my KC daylighters. Did you not paint the crossmember the front bumper mounts to? Wont that thing rust? I have an addicted offroad front as well and mine is starting to rust under my terrible paint job.

Yeah the yellow skid plate gets about 50/50 response from people. And it's funny you bring up painting the cross member :hat:

hey all, been on this web site for quite some time and have meet some of you in person. you guys have been a wealth of information and i always recomend this site to 4runner owners. my 4runner is a 1999 SR5 4WD automatic,with the 3.4 V6, no factory locker. I live in central california but actually bought this thing bone stock in LA, in 2011 with 92,xxx original miles. any way i'll update this bad boy as much as possible and also try to cover its back story.

heres how i bought it

after insta-lift aka running boards off

shortly after installed a daystar 2.5 inch spacer lift and installed monroe shocks all 4 corners. a couple days later i realized i "needed" bigger tires and bought 285/75-16 Duratracs. which is how we come to this

well later on i got bored on a day off from work and said, f it, im going to paint my stock skid, not sure why i chose yellow but i did ha. i then figured id go see if i could scrape it up and hit up jose basin with my bro in law.

bein the badass that i am /sarcasm i installed a stereo, pioneer deck, two 12 inch planet audio subs and a planet audio amp. got a pretty good deal on it and it does what i want so im happy.

got a gift certificate to 4wp so i picked this up for free! magnaflow 18 inch muffler, nice sound and tone, perfect for me.

well, i decided i needed an aftermarket front bumper and i really like tube bumpers. i found this in the classifieds on t4r, pm'd the guy and went and picked it up. which brings us to this.

bought these marlin crawler sliders, they are beefy as hell

Did you lose much power or mpgs? Also did you install a diff drop kit? Are your cv angles good and your ride similar to original? How long have you been on the lift now? That's a lot of questions haha. Here we goooooo. No trimming to fit the 285's. I didn't notice really any power loss although I'm sure I did because it is stock gearing, but then again I don't floor this truck everywhere, I hardly gas it any where. It's sad but I've had a diff drop kit sitting in my garage that I've never installed lol. The cv joints are angled and about 2 months after the lift was put on I ripped both of my cv boots. Good news was I learned how to change cv axles now and have a lifetime warranty on my new axles, I'm sure they'll rip again lol. My ride is actually really nice, I have no complaints and my buddies with 4x4's are always shocked by how smooth it rides. And the last answer, I've had the spacer lift on for about a year maybe. Good luck, spacer lifts aren't all bad, and buying quality shocks is the key.

Looks nice and the yellow skid plate works. I was kicking around the idea of painting mine red. My 96 SR5 is black with stock chrome bumpers.

No problem lol. Those f**kin bolts that hold the front diff on are stubborn and I haven't been able to get them off yet (even hit them with a impact drill and they wouldn't come off). I think I'm just gonna spray them with pb blaster everyday for a week and try again ha.

Well after installing the LED turn signals in the front there was less resistance so my turn signals would hyper flash which annoyed the holy hell outta me. Used the search button and found a thread that showed how to fix it. Went to VatoZone, bought the tridon ep-35 relay. Took out the old one, put in the new one and bam, just like OEM again, I'm so happy and the relay was only like 11 bucks (well worth it to me).
