That's what I was thinking as well. Didn't realize how much tubing and support there was. I think one of my favorite parts is the tubes coming up to the sides for support and you can use them as sliders which is awesome IMO.

here we go...
heres the savage offroad bumper pretty much done with the painting. I used Rustoleums bed liner in a can all over this bumper and it seems to have turned out pretty great. I also used it on my sliders and front bumper so I figured why not.
16oz monster next to the hinge for a size comparison, the bolt is massive.
After all the painting it was time to rip apart the ass end of the 4runner. Took off the trailer hitch and rear bumper.
Heres what I found inside (all over):
All done with that.

Whenever the angle grinder comes out you know you're in for a good time.
More bed liner in a can. Figured good enough for my bumper, why not the panel work? I also cut the notches into the pinch weld at this time before applying the bed liner.
Then I finally got to mount the rear bumper! I gotta say (again) I am impressed with savage. They did a great job designing this bumper, it bolted up with zero issue (which is always nice). Four bolts in each frame rail and your onto the next step. I also hacked off the end of my tail pipe at this time for more clearance.

All done (except for wiring up the license plate light, gotta buy some taps). Anyway, here is what i ended up with. Going camping/wheeling this weekend so should have some bad ass pic's next week. My next move is to replace my axle seals (sucks) and then buy a 5 star toyota rim and get a full size spare on the back! Anyway, enough chat, heres pic's...

Got to go out and do a little camping. My brother in law brian [MENTION=106932]Blazzin'[/MENTION], david [MENTION=91623]CenCalifoothill15[/MENTION] and i hit up bald mountain ohv. We had a 4th gen and two 3rd gens which made for a fun time. the trail is in the high sierras and is beautiful this time of year. I took a few pics and david took a lot of pics, some of these are his so credit to him, he always gets great angles! I'm just going to dump a bunch of pics in mostly random order so enjoy and thanks for all the kind words you guys have been leaving in the thread!

Hey man where are you guys near?
I'm thinking of going north for a camping trip next month and would like to get some wheeling done as well.
We were looking at going to shaver lake but I haven't been there since I was a kid. Are there any better lake camping + 4WD trails (within an hour of camp) places south of Tahoe?
How about around Shaver lake?

Great looking 4runner. What did you have them build the rear bumper out of?

There are about 5-6 trails that i can think of off the top of my head around shaver lake that you can hit. There is mirror lake ohv, coyote ohv, strawberry ohv, brewer lake ohv, swamp lake ohv, dusy ershim (if you're feeling crazy) and of course the trail thats open all year bald mountain ohv. All the trails vary in difficulty and length but are all fun. Just depends on how crazy you're willing to get with your t4r. Id recommend googling the trails and see how they are rated, probably check out youtube also. You could run trails all week and see a different one every day.
Thanks for the kind words brochacho. The bumpers are made from HREW, i didnt think i would need DOM, I like to have fun but im not that hardcore ha.

Long time no update. So here's a little one. I have been doing some maintence axle seals, oil change, wired up the plate light for my rear bumper. I think there is more I'm forgetting, I'll update more when I can remember ha.
Thanks to Bfad I got got my axle seal done in my garage in no time. It's been a few weeks since I did it and I haven't seen anything leaking out so hopefully it stays like that.
